4 WORKSHOPS THIS YEAR… AND MORE ARE COMING.

What if a healthy food workshop wasn't about sitting and listening to someone tell you what you should eat?

What if people could see it being made, discover an ingredient they may not normally use, ask questions, taste it and actually enjoy the conversation around food?

That’s exactly what we created today. ❤️

Our 4th FoodWithATwist workshop of 2026, in collaboration with Soul8Purpose as part of their beautiful Elements – Earth, Fire & Water experience. 🌿🔥💧

Today I brought foxtail millet to the table.
While preparing the colourful millet salad bowls, I demonstrated how this ancient grain can be turned into something simple, fresh, practical and full of flavour.

But the best part wasn't just the demonstration.
It was what happened around it.

The questions.
The conversations.
The curiosity about the ingredients.

And then hearing people say…
“The salad is delicious!” ❤️

THAT is the experience I want to create.
Because when people are engaged, asking questions and enjoying what they're tasting, healthy food stops feeling like something they have to eat and becomes something they actually WANT to eat.

And then this message arrived from Soul8Purpose afterwards:
“Your workshop was amazing and the girls said you are engaging.” 🥹

For me, that's the result.
Not simply demonstrating another recipe.

It's creating an experience people participate in, talk about and hopefully take something useful home from.

More food.
More learning.
More conversations.
More experiences to come. ❤️

Two events. Two completely different setups. One very full week. ❤️

Some weeks in small business really remind you how many hats you wear.

This week I was a mum, driver, cook, shopper, event planner, stylist, team coordinator, problem solver and business owner — sometimes all within the same hour. 😅

There were grocery runs, setup trials, staff allocations, packing, loading cars, creating temporary kitchens, cooking, plating and those last-minute finishing touches that nobody ever sees.

And somewhere in between all of that…
I had my Wyndham Business Awards judges visit. 🥹✨

Then it was straight back into the car and onto the next job.

Looking at these two finished setups now, I don't just see beautiful tables.

I see the planning.
The trial and error.
The team behind me.
The kilometres driven.
The late nights.

And a mum trying to make everything work while building something she truly believes in. ❤️

This is the side of small business that doesn't always make it onto Instagram.

But when the client messages afterwards saying “the food was a hit” and “thank you for making it special for us” — somehow, all those hats feel worth wearing.

Earlier this year, on World Health Day, IPC Health recognised FoodWithATwist for our contribution to healthier, culturally relevant catering in our local community. 🌿❤️

Being highlighted by IPC Health as a caterer supported through the Catering for Good Directory was incredibly meaningful to us—especially alongside the recognition of our catering contract with Wyndham City Council.

Food with a twist has always believed that healthier catering should never mean compromising on flavour, culture or presentation.

For us, it means creating food that is:

🌏 This World Health Day, we’re being called to stand with science - and the science shows that what we eat away from home plays a big role in our health.

In Wyndham, nearly 60% of adults are overweight or obese, and fewer than 4 in 10 people eat enough fruit and vegetables. With eating out and takeaway now part of everyday life, healthy catering needs to be part of the solution.

🥗 That’s why the Catering for Good Directory matters
The Catering for Good Directory was developed by the Victorian Department of Health and the Healthy Eating Advisory Service. Powered locally by IPC Health, we support and train local caterers to provide healthier, sustainable and culturally relevant food - helping communities make better catering choices at scale.

🎉 Big congratulations to Food with a twist, a local caterer supported by IPC Health, who has secured a 12 month catering contract with Wyndham City Council - showing that healthy food can support both community wellbeing and local business.
