Apparently when truffle season ends, Boogie moves into modelling. 😎🐾

For a few months of the year, this nose has a very important job — finding black truffles hidden beneath the soil at Scotch Hill Truffle Farm.

The rest of the year?

Apparently he’s available for magazine covers.

Truffle hunter. Rescue dog. Farm celebrity.
And quite possibly the real boss of Scotch Hill.

⚡️ Did you know?

The Ancient Greeks couldn’t explain where truffles came from.

With no seeds or roots in sight, they believed these mysterious treasures were born when lightning struck the earth — a gift from the gods themselves. ⚡️🍄

We know a little more today… but finding one still feels like magic.

Follow for more surprising truffle history, or visit scotchhill.com.au to join us on a truffle hunt and discover how truffles really form beneath the soil.

Cleopatra, goose… and truffles? 👑🍄

More than 2,000 years ago, truffles were already being eaten in the ancient world — and food-history accounts say Egyptians around Cleopatra’s time enjoyed them cooked in goose fat.

Suddenly our picture of Cleopatra shaving truffle over a roast goose doesn’t seem quite so fanciful. 😂

Truffles have been fascinating people for thousands of years — mysterious treasures hidden beneath the soil, prized for their extraordinary aroma and flavour.

Two thousand years later, we’re still fascinated by what lies beneath the soil.

At Scotch Hill Truffle Farm, our 2026 harvest may be finished — but the journey to next winter’s truffles has already begun. 🌳🐕🍄

Follow us and come along for the journey to our next harvest.
