🌿 How the Cook Up Collective Began 🌿
After catering throughout the Wheatbelt for over 9 years, I’ve come to truly appreciate the joy that comes from cooking for others. From intimate kitchen moments to large-scale events, every plate has been a chance to connect. That passion led me to open Wild Poppy Café in Merredin, where alongside an incredible team we’ve been fortunate to feed our local community with heart, flavour, and creativity.
But my love for cooking actually began long before Wild Poppy. Back in Perth, I was a Thermomix consultant, and when I moved to Merredin, I happily stepped aside knowing Mel had the region covered. Fast forward 9 years, and with Mel now moving into a bigger role in her Thermomix journey, the time felt right to help reignite the local Thermie community.
So together with my friend and cafe teammate Kim, we dreamed up The Cook Up Collective, a place to spark creativity, inspire confidence, and rebuild a supportive Thermomix family right here in the Wheatbelt.
Between the two of us, we bring the perfect blend. I love to talk (you’ve probably noticed), and Kim thrives on experimenting and creating magic with her Thermie. Together, we hope to be the go-to team for support, inspiration, and fun whether you’re brand new or looking to fall back in love with your Thermomix.
“Where will we find the time?” you ask. Great question! We both work full time at the cafe, we each have big families to keep happy and we try not to miss a weekend of hockey, but this is something we’re passionate about. We’ll always do our best to help you get your Thermo mojo back… or finally get one on your benchtop!
With the TM7 just launched, now’s the perfect time to join us. Be the first to see it in action at our launch party (details coming soon)!
Our vision goes beyond demos. We’re planning practical skills sessions, themed workshops, and maybe even the occasional guest cook (looking at you, Ada Barnett—you just don’t know it yet!).
So, hit like and follow to join us on this new adventure—two cooks, two thermies, and one big heart for our community.
Let the Cook Up Collective begin! 💚
