I pinched some eggs for orders today after I had an altercation with a rooster on collection last night and he busted my egg basket and the first lot of the pens, he is now in the sin bin currently until I work out what to do with him. See if the other lad will man up.

Marans, Suss*x, Welsumers, Wyandottes in all colours, silkies, australorps, pekins.

Guinea fowl. I have eggs and I have an active nest ive hid from the crows 😂 for now. This weeks spoken for but more next week at this stage. 6-7 a day so we aren’t doing too bad for now! 40per doz

All breeds tested from 85-100% fertility before sale. Price to reflect this. Besides welsummers they just lay too much 😂 I still get to set their eggs every week and sell some!

She has to be one of my favourite chickens atm. She is part of my choc silkie project. She is the quirkiest chicken ever! Escapes the pen to come see what I’m doing, she’s been living in the marans pen for 2 weeks 😂 she finally moved back to the project pen today on her own accord. She couldn’t wait to get in there fast enough! Everyone in the pen is broody apart from her.

I chose her early on just based on personality, Her sister had better size than her. But I ended moving her on cause I couldn’t part with this one.

One day the pen might get back to their job at hand. They were sitting on eggs but 4 hens on the nest box they cooked them all and they have made an absolute mess. Trying to let them air out abit so I can pop them in broody jail. But currently I don’t want to touch them 🤮

Soooo apparently hot days followed by cold days makes hens lay like crazy.

I have just checked the machine and we have a few 100% fertility rates!! And I put in a lot of those eggs!

All 50 a dozen this week as I still have last weeks excess to fit into the machine 😂 did I mention there is 4 dozen d’Uccle eggs in the machine 🤔 why are they laying so much?! They have never laid like this before! Nek minnit broody.

Silkies - buff & BBS pens available atm this stage whites are laying but I need to fert test them again as they just had a rear gear check.

15 each, 7 x 100 or 15 x 150 uns*xed - welsummer girls 30 each

Pullets … silkies 14 weeks ish. 15 available 🤣 buffs (9), white (1), showgirls and st*****rs (4 all grey) showgirl white (1), Blue (1) … I added the blue in 🤣 16

70 each, minimum two pullets for wellbeing.

3 black silkie males, made it through the culling process of the latest batch of silkies.

There’s another 3 after this lot also 🤣 little bearded lad is already in my sights.. let’s just say I have a soft spot for the black silkies. Nearly all the black males have made it through this season. One was too red in the wattles and had a dodgy 5th. Everything else is still in the grower pen! Even a white made it over this season! That never happens! Actually there’s two growing out now 🤣

I’m at the point now where I’m keeping more males then females 🤣

I went through the black pullets today. One I’m very tempted to keep. Who knows I might need her for the chocs 🤞 Other two are pretty good also!

I’m contemplating running an auction for the blacks this season. I feel like they are at a point now where I can’t keep them all and it would be a waste for some of them to go as backyard birds. And a huge shame to not use some of these boys!

I will grow them out abit longer and see how I feel about that process. See how many faults I finally come across 🤣
