Jet is also still available and these 2 are great friends, it would be lovely to find a home for them to go together

Jet is 100% 1yo buck, son of First Fleet Corelli who is known for improvement udder attachments and capacity
He is a very small boy, so would be good to bring heights down in your herd.

This is marshmallow, it's a w**d that grows rampant at this time of year, and is incredible for sore throats and coughs, respiratory and gastrointestinal problems, as it coats mucous membranes soothing irritation.
It is easy to harvest and store for tea throughout the year, and safe for all ages.

We have been getting on-top of some w**ding in the garden, and part of that w**ding is pulling out some marshmallow growing where it's not needed, so instead of just throwing it in the goat feeder, I first chop the roots off, collect them all, wash them well and dry off the moisture in front of the fire.
Then slice them into small pieces, and lay them in a single layer on baking trays, and place the trays on the fireplace to dry out completely for a couple days

This jar is 300g of organic marshmallow root for herbal healing of our family.

Medicine is all around us! We just need to use it, learn about what grows wild around you, EAT YOUR WEEDS, don't poison them!

I finally had a warm enough day to check on my little hive living in my catching box that I altered to fit the top bars from my Kenyan top bar hive

They're doing really well! I couldn't find the queen, but I did find plenty of capped brood, new eggs and brand new baby bees 🐝 and they also had heaps of honey both capped and uncapped nectar, and the population has grown a lot since I checked on them last before it got too cold

I caught this swarm at Christmas time, it was the smallest swarm I've seen, and then about a week after they settled into my top bar hive, we had crazy winds that blew the hive over, breaking all the comb and honey went everywhere, and ants took over the mess.
The swarm took off and landed in a nearby sapling, where I was able to catch them again.
I rehomed them to my catching box, after I had done some alterations to allow me to use the top bars and comb that I could salvage from the disaster.

I was very concerned they wouldn't have time to establish their food stores before the winter, and just hoped for the best, and they did just fine 🥰

Now the gums are all coming into flower, the tagasaste is in full bloom, the canola fields and wattles are a sea of gold and all the stone fruit are about to burst into flower too, providing endless food for them

Eclipse kidded yesterday, she had triplets, 2 boys and a girl.

She didn't look close to giving birth, but had lost her ligaments the night before, I had woken up and checked on her several times overnight, and in the morning she still hadn't gone and still didn't look 'ready' enough.

So I carried on with my day, milked Heidi and Ally, then went and made my juice, came out to give the goats my juicer pulp, and she had given birth!!
She was laying down and he was still fully encased in the sack, she was cleaning him but the wrong end, I cleaned off his face and tried to wake him up, but he had been in the sack too long and was unresponsive.
Then she had a girl, and after drying her off she appeared to have some sort of neurological disorder, and her tongue was purplish, I think she must have had the blood supply cut off or something causing lack of oxygen to her brain.
We brought her inside and tried to feed her, unfortunately she never came good and passed away over night 😔

The last little baby was a tiny Swiss boy, he is so cute and they are both doing very well ❤️

While it's very sad that two didn't make it, she is a first freshener and our smallest doe by far, at only 43cm tall and she will be 2 in December, I'm so relieved that she kidded fine and is doing a great job looking after him, a little throwback of her daddy's colours 🥰

And she also has a very nice shaped udder and teats for the tiniest little goat 🥰

All the ewes udders are starting to fill up, there's a couple who are obviously closer than others, including one of the Finn sheep ewes, Ally (Alyssum), who looks like she might go any day, so I've brought them both into the yard incase she has them overnight. She's nearly as round as she is tall!

Over the last few days her udder has gotten so big, this afternoon I gave her a haircut around the back end in preparation for lambs ❤️

The Finn ewes obviously weren't nearly as close to lambing as I was told, and could possibly even be bred to my East Fresian ram. Depending on when they lamb I guess we'll find out who the daddy is lol

Ally, Zoe, Daisy and Lavender look like they'll be first off the rank

I went out to check on Heidi this morning, and she had quads again!!!
All dry and running around already

3 boys and only one girl, unfortunately the pretty ones are boys again!!
We got a little mini JD (John Denver) the chocolate and white buckling, a chamoise buckling, and a black buckling.

All the happy fat little goats enjoying the pasture 🥰 Heidi and Roxy's due dates have came an went and they're still looking a couple weeks away lol
Heidi is as round as ever so let's see how many she has this time, the last 2 kiddings she's had quads

We still have 2 young bucks (horned 100% and polled 96.9%) looking for homes and 2 polled 100% doelings ❤️

So we have a couple new family members to introduce ❤️

Idun is a 12 year old Brumby mare from Mount Kosciusko
Named after the Norse goddess of Spring, rejuvenation and immortality

Freyja is an 8 month old paint x stock horse filly ❤️
Named after the Norse goddess of love, beauty and war ❤️

In the myth, Idun is kidnapped by the giant Thiassi in the form of a giant eagle, after she was lured from the safety of Asgard (which I see as a similarity to the helicopters driving these incredible creatures from the safety of their mountain home), then she was rescued by Loki, with the help of Freyja, and returned to safety in Asgard

They are both such beautiful sweet natured horses
