Farewell Dinner 💐

31st March was Claudia, Nancy & Jannet’s last shift.

We wish Claudia all the very best on her next dairy adventure and future endeavours. The Cheelonga Team and Graham family are extremely proud of the growth she has achieved, from calf rearing training, to milking mastitis management, and then more recently completing her Artificial Insemination course with excelling reproduction results. All the best 🐄

Nancy and Jannet both travelled home to Vanuatu 🇻🇺 to reunite with their families and enjoy a well deserved break.
Both ladies have been with us over 4 years on the seasonal worker programme and have advanced their skills and training to become lead Milkers at Nash Rd Dairy- the Cheelonga Team and Graham family are exceptionally proud of their growth and we look forward seeing you back on farm soon 🐄

Congratulations Ryan Graham 🥳🚛

We are very proud of our eldest boy, Ryan, for getting his truck license.
Perfect timing…. Jumped straight into our silage trucks this week carting into Nash Rd’s pit to get the job done ✔️
If you see him on the road, give him a wave 👋

A big congrats to Ryan who came in at short notice to absolutely nail his HR test in Mareeba on Wednesday last week! Nice driving mate and thanks for your support! Cheers Teeny

🌽Day 2- End Users🌽

What a terrific 2nd Day of our Cheelonga Farming Corn Silage Field day.

This time we met with our farmers using corn silage/ wanting to use to feed their cows.
The day was jam packed with all you need to know about “what is” a quality crop, compacting, sealing and managing your stack/ pit of silage to ensure the best feed fit to feed our cows.

Beef or dairy, we came together to expand our understanding and knowledge. Thank you to the experts again from Day 1 with your awesome presentations!

A massive thank you to Bega & Howard Smith for allowing us to use this great venue.

🌽Day 1 Done🌽

Today we met with our Corn Growers themselves- without these guys we wouldn’t have the opportunity to feed our cows the brilliant feed source of corn silage.

We heard from the experts; Maurillio, Jordan & Joanna which helped us build our bank of knowledge on what we need to know to grow a top quality product fit to produce beef or milk.

Day 2 tomorrow…. Stay Tuned as we will meet with our beef and dairy producers!

🐄📽️ Throwback Thursday📽️🐄

So 20yrs ago this fresh faced French boy came to work at Cheelonga- everything so strange, the language, country, dairy farming and early mornings!! Vivien stayed with us for nearly 4 mths and in this time we saw him grow in confidence, strength and determination. The friendship we have with this wonderful young man has spaned 20 years and he was so happy and proud to wear his "Cheelonga" shirt around his home country of France!! He had many strangers come and chat with him about his shirt and experiences on our farm. It was a life changing experience for us all.

🇫🇷 Donna is lucky enough to have a personal tour guide on her travels through France thanks to Cheelonga’s multicultural working opportunities that have lead to forever friendships 🇫🇷
