I’ve spent the past 2 days packing Dahlia orders. Whilst my orders are insignificant numbers compared to some large scale growers I take my hat off to them for the time it takes to get the dahlia tubers packed up and sent off to their new homes, it really is a mammoth effort.
Over the remainder of the week I will continue to pack orders and send them off day by day hopefully finalizing them all at the weeks end.

On Tuesday I had the pleasure of Eskdale Primary school students and teachers visiting the flower patch to discuss and compliment their Food and Fibre study at school.
Whilst the flower patch was nearly bare the last of the chrysanthemums were available to see and the hands on soil blocking was a huge hit.

The Mitta Valley is rich with a diversity of food and fibre production from Micro farms to huge operations.

Horticulture, Agriculture, Floriculture, Apiculture what brilliant resources we have within our tiny community.

500 Pre sprouted ranunculus went in today. Pre sprouting the corms give the plants a little kick start when they hit the dirt.
These corms were saved from last year and I’ve had a great sprout rate.

Today I have been completely inspired by .by.nature.
I have been trying to incorporate more and more foliage into my arrangements as I struggle significantly as soon as I put a piece of foliage in my work.

Every aspect of this vase arrangement is sourced from , It brings me so much joy to be able to say that. As well as being 100% field and home grown, these flowers are chemical free, and created without the use of plastics and floral foam.
Chicken wire has been used as a support to ensure volume and stability.

Edit: The crystal vase was given to me by my Grannie Patricia Hansen, it is very special to me.
