Sara-Jane Cleland Naturopath Naturopath, Herbalist & Nutritionist passionate about health offering consultations 1:1 & Zoom In 2009 I established my own private practice in Bowral.

My journey as a health practitioner began over 20 years ago as a Yoga teacher and organically evolved to practising as a Remedial Massage therapist. In 2006, I completed a bachelor degree in Naturopathy at the University of Western Sydney and in 2007 a Graduate Diploma in Naturopathy at UWS. After working as a Naturopath at Pure Botanicals in Sydney, I escaped the city life to live in the beautiful Southern Highlands. My practice has continued to grow and in 2013 I created The Naturopathic Cooking School to show clients how easy it can be to eat healthy, nutritious food. My approach is comprehensive, effectively treating your symptoms and addressing underlying causes. I use high quality herbal medicines and nutritional supplements, massage therapy, food education, diet and lifestyle recommendations, for the best natural treatment. As a member of the Australian Natural Therapists Association (ANTA) I am dedicated to the highest standards of professionalism. I regularly attend professional seminars and stay up to date with the ever evolving world of natural medicine. I believe that Health is your greatest Asset not only for your future longevity but most importantly for your present level of happiness, productivity and ease of living. My intention is to create changes in your health, so YOU can experience a vibrant and healthy life!

Glutathione is so important for health and well-being - I stock NAC an easy to take and economical powder which is a precursor to glutathione.

Glutathione, the master antioxidant plays a starring role in detox and helps protect the body from impacts of daily toxin exposure.

This is good to know – not just because toxins are unavoidable but because low glutathione is associated with increased oxidative stress and impaired detox capacity.

How can you promote glutathione status for daily detox? Clinical strategies include:

1. Ensuring adequate intake of amino acids for glutathione synthesis, especially glutamine, cysteine and glycine. Present in protein foods, these amino acids also support phase II detox.

2. Stimulating the production of glutathione and other antioxidant enzymes.

Broccoli and Turmeric are powerful plant compounds that activate glutathione-producing pathways to support daily detoxification. Phytonutrients, sulforaphane (from broccoli seed and sprout) and curcumin (from turmeric root) together

🥦 Increase antioxidant status

🫚 Support detoxification of environmental toxins

🥦 Promote effective toxin clearance via phase I and II detox processes

🫚 Protect liver and other cells from toxin-induced damage

Optimising your glutathione levels may help counter the effects of everyday environmental exposures and manage your toxic load. While dietary sources provide a good foundation, supplementing with these compounds at therapeutic doses can enhance antioxidant and detox potential.

Supporting brain health really is a no brainer....

Cognitive health doesn’t just affect memory, it shapes mood, focus and daily performance at every stage of life. Supporting brain health is a no-brainer, especially when:

🌿 work requires you to uplevel mental performance
🌿 studying or learning new knowledge and skills
🌿 brain fog is thwarting productivity and focus
🌿 diagnosed with ADHD
🌿 prioritising healthy ageing and cognition for life

Set yourself up for success this year with specific herbs and nutrients for learning, memory, concentration and focus.

Important for brain and neurological function, optimal Magnesium intake is associated with better cognitive performance and a lower dementia risk.[1]

Bacopa is a cognition-enhancing tonic that rejuvenates the nervous system and improves learning, memory and concentration.[2] The herb also benefits those with ADHD.[3]

Saffron has nootropic, neuroprotective and cognition-enhancing effects. Research trials have confirmed Saffron’s cognitive benefits in both dementia[4] and ADHD.[5]
