Sometimes, stepping back from the day-to-day gives you a fresh perspective on your farm business.

Mark Watts, who runs Watts Speckle Park at Glendon Brook, joined our Growing Success workshop in September to think about his business and what comes next.

โ€œItโ€™s given me some new direction and ideas to think about when it comes to the farm business and where I want to head with things.โ€

The NSW Farm Business Resilience Program supports farmers in building their knowledge and skills to manage drought, climate variability, and business risk.

Growing Success | Farm Business Planning Essentials ๐ŸŒพ

Supporting farmers to build stronger, more resilient and sustainable farm businesses! We've recently had Ben Watts representing Bralca and delivering the Growing Success: Farm Business Planning Essentials workshops in both Dubbo and Paterson, in partnership with the Farm Business Resilience Program.

These practical, interactive workshops are designed to help farmers step back from their day-to-day operations, assess their business, identify opportunities and develop strategies to support their farm's long-term success. A big thank you to everyone who has participated in the workshops so far!

What's next? Brooke Watts will be delivering these workshops across NSW for the remainder of 2026, with more locations and dates being planned. Whether you're looking to strengthen your existing farm business, improve your planning or simply take the time to work on your business rather than in it, these workshops are a great opportunity to get started.

Interested in attending? Send the Bralca team an email to find out more about upcoming dates, locations and how to book your place.

Yesterday, Danielle Connolly and I attended the AgTech Fundamentals Workshop at Homebush Hotel, delivered by BRALCA and the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, created a strong opportunity to connect with local landholders and stakeholders.

This engagement allowed me to introduce myself to the local landholders and stakeholders as the newly appointed Local Landcare Coordinator for the Southern Region. To build relationships and encourage future collaboration and connection with the local community.

Overall, the event was a great success, creating space for many meaningful conversations with local landholders and stakeholders. These discussions provided valuable insight into local priorities and highlighted opportunities for Western Landcare NSW to continue supporting the Balranald Shire community into the future.

Emily Pluckhahn, Local Landcare Coordinator โ€“ Southern.

Thanks to the Farms of the Future team for once again, coming out to the region and providing opportunities for our landholders.

Great to also connect with Lee Camin, Western Local Land Services. Looking forward to the next time!

๐Ÿš We use drones in our work at TL Rural, and weโ€™re always keen to see more people discover what they can do on the farm.

Tocal College is bringing its Drones in Agriculture course to Bathurst on 8 October, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. It covers safe drone operation, the rules for using drones on farms, and how the data you collect can help with on-farm decisions.

Itโ€™s a one-day course with some online work beforehand, and fully subsidised places may be available for eligible participants.

If youโ€™ve been thinking about using a drone on your property, take a look at the flyer and scan the QR code to apply.
