🐏RAM SALE 15TH NOVEMBER 2024 🐏
Gday All, we are only a week away from our Rams selling at the annual Hilltop merino ram sale. We have 20 rams lotted and they are looking great. A bit of a background on our sheep:
- NON-MULESED; for 11 years and are RWS accredited, no fly chemical ever on the bodies of adult sheep.
- WHITE; wools, this has been a focus of ours for many years, in 2022 we had 1200mm of rain in the year and had 10 fleeces out of 5000 with water colour or fleece rot
- LENGTH; our sheep suit 6 or 8 month shearing programs. We can well and truly produce 10mm + a month, with many sheep known to shear 80-90mm in 7 months.
- MICRON; our flock ewes average 16.7 micron. Our sale rams average 18.1 micron this year after a cracking year
- CARCASS; we are continually improving the growth and carcass of our sheep, we strive for a deep bodied, wide carcass on a moderate frame
- FERTILITY; continually improving, weaning 120% lambs to ewes joined annually including maidens.
- DO-ABILITY; our sheep are nearly always purely grass- fed unless the case of a dry season. Lambs are finished on grass only, this years rams are purely grass-grown.
