Well, apart from the fact that's its delicious, FULL if chicken, and noodles (two very important ingredients) - the base of this soup, as well as all our braises, gravies etc is a home- made bone broth that's been simmering for 24 hours to slowly but surely extract as much of the flavour and beneficial nutrients as possible from those chicken bones - leaving behind a concoction that provides rich nutrients including protein, collagen, and minerals that support joint health, gut function, and hydration.

“WHO DO YOU FEED?”
Anyone! Is the short answer. As long as you’re either within our delivery zone (Outer East, Dandenong Ranges etc) or willing to pick up from Monbulk. Our customers vary widely and thus our menu tries to cater to most – Individuals, families, busy working parents, fussy eaters, people with dierary needs, NDIS & SaH (aged care) recipients, people who love a nice meal with their friday Netflix session, people who have cooked for others their whole lives and now want to be cooked FOR - all sorts!

“IS IT ACTUALLY HOME-MADE”?
Yep! “Glen Cooks Food” isn’t just a fancy business name, it’s the name of the guy making your meals! From scratch. That includes all the stocks being slowly simmered for hours and hours, and all the sauce bases are made from scratch, by Glen, not just scooped out of a jar.

ARE YOU ACCREDITED TO DELIVER SaH (Support At Home) FUNDED MEALS?
Yes! If your funding package allows you to choose a meal provider, you are able to use us! We have dietitian accreditation, and we take care of the process to set up a service agreement with your provider.

HOW DOES YOUR ORDERING SYSTEM WORK?
If you’ve subscribed to our menu (link above or in bio), you’ll receive our menu directly to your inbox when our menu opens each Thursday night, put in an order before it closes on Sunday at 10pm (or text us if you miss the deadline!), then we will deliver on Wednesday between 5 and 8pm, or it will be available for pick up on Thursday.

“WHAT PRICE DO YOUR READY MEALS START AT?”
Our Ready-Meals start at $14 (inc GST). NDIS & SaH recipients can get easily approved with us so that they only pay 30% - we are accredited. Minimum spend for delivery is $50.

”WHAT SIZE ARE YOUR PORTIONS”
Glad you asked! Our READY-MEALS come in portion sizes to suit all appetites! Below is our general rule of thumb, and weights depend on the meal/ingredients, eg mash is heavier than rice. But there will always be a minimum 100g difference between each size of the same dish.
“Light” – 300-350g. For smaller appetites, or maybe a lunch serve? These are equivalent in size (not quality) to a ready-meal you would get from the supermarket or light n easy.
“Regular” – 400-450g. A good size for an average adult to feel fed.
“Hearty” – 500-570g. These are a supersized meal for people with larger appetites, or those with will power who like to have leftovers for lunch.
We also have a huge range of “MIX N MATCH” sides and mains so you can make up a meal to your own liking, or feed multiple people.

“DO YOU DO ONE-OFFS OR DO I NEED TO COMMIT TO A REGULAR ORDER?”
There is NO commitment if you subscribe to our menu. You’ll receive our weekly menu straight to your inbox, then you decide whether to put in an order or not. Some people order every week, some order once for a special occasion, and everything in between. There’s no hard sell marketing, we just put it out there and you decide!

SHAMELESS NAME-DROPPING IS NOT BENEATH US.

Did you know that Glen has worked in the kitchens of George Calombaris, Rick Stein, Andrew Blake and some other people that only other chefs would be interested in?!

Not to mention he was one of the first food blogs that Masterchef Judge Sofia Levin ever wrote almost 20 years ago! Ok sure, it wasn't about "Glen Cooks Food" in it's current state, it was about his first restaurant The Home Dining Room, which Sofia frequented at the time and used for practicing her food blogging - obviously she has always had very good taste.

So now you know why there's way more value in a Glen Cooks Food ready-meal, than in a supermarket or mass produced one. Because chefs with this experience don't end up working in kitchens with conveyor belts.
