We truly went beneath the surface at our inaugural field day.

Our friends Lyall and Natalie smoked us sacredly as we gathered on this Wakka Wakka Wulli Wulli country.

141 humans with open hearts, ready minds and warm souls on this chilly winter Monto day joined together.

We were offered words and stories, showered with sun and soil, and were nourished with home grown thoughtfully curated local food.

Sometimes it is difficult to find words to describe an experience.

Peaceful. Ethereal. Vibrant. Wholesome. Collective.

Today, Lily Burnham will represent Monto at the Burnett Sub Chamber Finals as our 2026 Monto Showgirl.

Since accepting the role, Lily has embraced every opportunity that has come her way with warmth, enthusiasm and a genuine love for our community. Whether it was lending a hand at the Show, connecting with exhibitors and volunteers, or simply sharing a smile with everyone she met, Lily has represented Monto with pride.

One of the things that has stood out most is Lily's willingness to step outside her comfort zone and make the most of every experience. She has approached her role as Monto Showgirl with positivity, grace and a wonderful sense of humour.

Lily, thank you for being such a fantastic ambassador for our Show and our community. You make us all incredibly proud.
