Pork and apples. Name a better winter duo.

This simple winter warmer is packed with flavour and comes together in no time. Tender pork loin steaks, sweet apples and a rich sauce make it the perfect midweek dinner. Serve with your favourite veggies, a fresh salad or creamy mash.

Pick up our premium pork loin steaks on special this week for just $16.90/kg and give it a try.

Ingredients:
4 pork loin steaks
2 tsp five-spice powder
1 tbsp oil
1 large red onion, cut into wedges
4 red apples, cored and cut into wedges
2 tbsp redcurrant jelly
1 tbsp red wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar
200ml chicken stock

Method:
1. Season the pork with five-spice. Heat half the oil in a frying pan and cook the pork for around 3 minutes each side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
2. Add the remaining oil to the pan. Cook the onion for 2 minutes, then add the apples and cook for a further 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
3. Stir through the redcurrant jelly, vinegar and chicken stock. Bring to the boil and simmer for 8–10 minutes until the sauce has reduced slightly and the apples are tender.
4. Return the pork to the pan and coat in the glaze.
