Want to learn how to keep bees? 🐝

We are running a hands-on Beekeeping Course starting Tuesday, 29th September 2026! Learn both traditional and modern techniques from Peter Norris, who brings over 40 years of local and international beekeeping experience.

Where: Heritage Honey, 21 Springfield Ave, Moonah 7009
Theory: 6 x 2-hour evening sessions (Tuesdays & Thursdays, 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM)
Practical: 2 x 3-hour Sunday field sessions (4/10 and 11/10, 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM)
Cost: $400 (Includes a 1-year membership to the Southern Tasmanian Beekeepers Association!)

Our LAST Wax Dipping Day of the year is coming up!

Lock in Monday the 31st of August because this is our final wax dipping session for the year. It’s your last chance to get your wooden bee gear protected on-site at Heritage Honey (21-23 Springfield Avenue, Moonah) before the busy season kicks off!

A quick reminder before you head over:
Make sure all your gear is securely glued and nailed and bone dry ( no moisture and not painted yet!).

You’re welcome to paint your boxes right here on the premises straight after they’re dipped—just bring your own paint, brushes, and rollers.

🔥 WAX DIPPING DAY AT HERITAGE HONEY! 🔥
Mark your calendars because we are hosting our next Wax Dipping Day on Monday the 10th of August at Heritage Honey, located at 21-23 Springfield Avenue, Moonah. This process involves dipping your wooden boxes, lids, and floors into hot wax — done right here on-site — to preserve your equipment and extend its lifespan. It’s a golden opportunity to protect your wooden bee gear before the season kicks off!
Please ensure all of your items are securely glued and nailed before arrival (must not be painted). Once they are dipped, you are more than welcome to paint your boxes right here on the premises—just remember to bring along your own paint, brushes, and rollers! We still have a few spots available throughout the day, but they are filling up fast. If you would like to bring along your wooden boxes, floors, or lids, please secure your slot by calling us on 62009572. Cheers!

We've just had a late notice from our beekeeper that a small batch of Queen cells will be arriving this Friday or Saturday. The exact day is still to be confirmed, so we are working on short notice too.
