A proud moment for our 2023 Old Vine Shiraz.

Awarded 95 points by Toni Paterson for Halliday Wine Companion; and carrying the coveted Halliday Special Value Wine red star badge, this is a wine that speaks clearly of old vines, patience and place.

Supple, graceful and full bodied; with rich red plum, dark chocolate, a hint of spearmint, green spice and beautifully balanced oak. With fruit drawn from 50 year old vines, it has vitality, flow and that quiet confidence only mature vineyards can deliver.

A special wine; and officially special value - available online and puring in cellar door now.

A fresh vintage has arrived.

Our new release Taltarni 2024 Discovery Pinot Noir is here; bright, elegant and unmistakably cool climate. Think lifted red fruits, fine structure and that silky Pinot character that makes it so easy to come back for another glass.

Now pouring at the cellar door.

Warm up with us this weekend.

There may be no live music on, but there’s still every reason to visit; exceptional Taltarni wines, locally sourced cheese and charcuterie platters, and a roaring fire waiting at the cellar door.

A proper winter weekend, done well.

Cold weather, live music, good wine and the fireplace going; King’s Birthday Weekend is looking pretty cosy at Taltarni.

Join us Sunday at the cellar door for Blackbird Echo with Nate & Matt; settle in with a glass, warm up by the fire, and enjoy a relaxed long weekend in the Pyrenees.

Vintage 2026 is now in the books.

From early starts in the vineyard to long days in the winery, every tonne tells part of the story; 28 tonnes of Shiraz, 10 tonnes of Cabernet Sauvignon, 120 tonnes of Pinot Noir and 240 tonnes of Chardonnay amongst others.

A huge thank you to our vineyard and winery teams for another vintage shaped by patience, hard work and the Pyrenees.

Before it becomes the finished bottle, every barrel has to earn its place.

Our Victorian Range Shiraz begins with careful blending decisions from winemakers Rob, Ben and Will, followed by tasting, checking, emptying to tank, barrel cleaning and lab analysis. It is practical, hands-on winemaking; the kind of work that happens quietly behind the scenes but makes all the difference in the glass.

Here is a look at how it comes together.

Not the prettiest corner of the winery, but definitely one of the most important.

These samples are set up for fining trials in the lab, where the team tests how different treatments might help polish a wine before bottling. Each bottle tells us something; how the wine settles, how it looks, how it feels, and how its aromas and flavours hold together.

It is the less glamorous side of winemaking, but it is where good decisions are made.

Tiny samples today; better bottles tomorrow.

A wonderful 95 point review from Toni Paterson in Halliday Wine Companion for Taltarni Reserve des Pyrenees 2023.

"Crafted from sangiovese, petit verdot, grenache, cabernet sauvignon and nebbiolo, it brings together savoury detail, supple fruit and beautifully integrated tannin. The result is a wine with depth, flow and unmistakable Pyrenees character.

Affordable, harmonious and made for the table; this is one to enjoy now or tuck away for later."

Autumn in the vineyard is a bit of a show-off, and honestly, we are here for it.

Golden leaves, rolling hills, cool mornings and blue skies; this is the quiet little pause between vintage and winter pruning, when the vines take a breath and the landscape reminds us just how lucky we are to call this place home.

Not all visitors come through the cellar door.

This local legend stopped by to check on the place, inspect the grass and generally remind us that life in the Pyrenees is never short on character.

Cellar door views; occasionally with ears.
