Meet the people behind Boolah’s Victorian Trial Farm 👩‍🌾🌾

Boolah’s Head of Research and Development, Brooke Sauer, and Ben Henderson from the Henderson family’s Darcra Farming operation are helping bring Boolah’s commercial-scale trial work to the Wimmera.

The Henderson family has dedicated 450 hectares of trials in Warracknabeal to Boolah’s Victorian Trial Farm, creating an opportunity to test ideas in local conditions across medium clay loam soils and a 350mm rainfall zone.

For Ben, Ellie, Mitch, Sheree, Craig and Pauline Henderson, the partnership is about staying close to the front edge of innovation, testing what works locally and building practical knowledge that can support margins, productivity and future farm decision-making.

It’s this local partnership that will help shape the 2026 Boolah Trial Farm Field Day, as the event heads to Victoria for the first time under the theme Margin Matters.

Can’t make it to Victoria for the Boolah Trial Farm Field Day? 🌱👩‍🌾

This year, the Trial Farm site at Pallamallawa will open its gates to the Dimboola and Popinguy farms on Wednesday 30 September for a NSW Trial Farm Walk.

In place of a NSW Field Day for 2026, the walk will give attendees the opportunity to get out on the ground, explore the trial sites firsthand, connect with trial farm participants and hear more about the latest research, learnings and discoveries shaping the season.

A practical morning designed for growers, industry and anyone interested in seeing the trials up close.
