If you haven't tried an orange wine before, the 2024 Ribolla Gialla is a good place to start.

Four weeks on skins, grown in the ancient Cambrian soils of Heathcote - it's not your everyday white, and that's exactly the point.

Complex, textured, and genuinely delicious. Those unfamiliar with the varietal and curious to try it for the first time will be rewarded with this gorgeous wine.

Adam Paleg and Mount Towrong Vineyard are finalists in the 6th Annual Vineyard of the Year Awards - named among 45 of the finest winegrowers in Australia.

The awards recognise sustainability as a genuine farming philosophy rather than a marketing position, and it's one Adam has been practising here for over a decade. No irrigation. No herbicides. No pesticides. Organic compost returned to the soil. Native plantings to encourage beneficial insect populations. A vineyard managed as an ecosystem.

As Young Gun of Wine founder Rory Kent wrote of this year's finalists: "The three pillars of sustainability — environmental, economic and social — are not competing priorities. They reinforce each other."

The 2024 Estate Prosecco won't be around much longer, this weekend is the last chance to get it at the cellar door.

By the glass, bottle or six-pack. Once it sells out (which it certainly will), Vivace will be our only sparkling on pour until the 2025 Prosecco is disgorged and released in October.
