$3.20 for 10 grams of oregano.
In a sad little plastic punnet. πŸ™ƒ

Meanwhile it's growing for free two streets away and nobody's picking it.

The moringa video broke something in me πŸ˜„ so here we are. Governments vs Food .. the series nobody asked for but everybody needed. 🌿

Episode 1 is comfrey.

A plant used medicinally for thousands of years, declared a dangerous killer by Australian authorities in 1984 based on research that contained a decimal point error overstating toxicity by a factor of TEN.

You can grow it.
You can put it on your skin.
You just can't take it as medicine without a prescription. All because of a decimal point in the 1980's!

Maccas open on every corner, margarine rated healthier than butter .. but the ancient herb is the dangerous one πŸ™ƒπŸŒΏ

Our moringa reel just hit 29,000 views on TikTok overnight and I've been on my phone all morning πŸ˜…

For those who missed it, the Australian government has banned moringa as a food.
The response from the community has been overwhelming and honestly really moving πŸ™ people from across Asia, the Pacific, the Caribbean and India all sharing how this plant has been part of their food culture for generations.

So here's my moringa tree.
Pinned on uForage right now.
Purely ornamental obviously πŸ˜‡

If you've got one, pin it.
If you need one, search your area.

🚨 MORINGA BANNED IN AUSTRALIA 🚨

The Australian government has banned moringa as a food and I have thoughts. 🌿

For those who don't know, moringa is one of the most nutrient-dense plants on Earth. It's been eaten safely across Africa, Asia and the Pacific for literally thousands of years.
More vitamin C than oranges.
More calcium than milk.
More iron than spinach.
Ancient cultures didn't get the memo that it was dangerous apparently.

FSANZ, our food standards authority rejected it as a novel food, meaning it can no longer be imported or sold for human consumption in Australia.
We now join Brazil and New Zealand as one of only THREE countries in the entire world to ban it.
Three. Countries. On the whole planet.

You can still buy Red Bull though. Totally fine. No concerns there. πŸ‘

Now this isn't the first time recently we've seen moves like this, last time it was backyard leafy greens, berries and melons getting caught up in commercial food safety regulations. And look, I get it, food safety matters. But there's a conversation to be had about where genuine safety ends and bureaucratic overreach begins.

Here's the thing though, growing a moringa tree is still completely legal. Owning one is completely legal. Sharing cuttings with your community is completely legal.
So if you happen to have a moringa tree in your yard and wanted to share some cuttings on uForage for your neighbours to grow... purely for shade... for ornamental purposes... because it's a beautiful tree...
We would absolutely not be able to stop you πŸ˜‡πŸŒΏ

Drop your location in the comments if you have one. Let's grow some very decorative, extremely ornamental, definitely not edible trees together.
