Please welcome Kristoff, Marcelle and their girls Lara and Milla from Huon Valley Lavender Farm to the Sprout Producer Program stage.
Huon Valley Lavender Farm began with a simple desire: to raise a family whose wellness was nourished by and connected to the land. For Kristoff and Marcelle, farming wasn’t just a career change — it was a return to something deeply familiar. Marcelle grew up on a Merino farm in South Africa, and today her parents, Peter and Suzanna, live and work alongside the family on their farm in Mountain River, sharing and nurturing three generations of farming knowledge.
Starting with a bare paddock, the family has slowly built a lavender farm based on regenerative principles, incorporating composting, mixed livestock cell grazing and a commitment to improving the ecology. Driven by a desire to use healthier, more natural products for their family, they set out to create chemical-free wellness products.
Their vision reaches beyond lavender alone. The farm has already been open to visitors and over time they hope to share workshops and learning experiences, helping others see that small-scale farming can be sustainable and deeply rewarding.
