Rockley Brahmans is known for breeding elite Red Brahman bulls and females that provide genetic gains for stud and commercial producers seeking more profitable, high performance cattle. Our herd is characterised by exceptional efficiency, quiet temperament and high rates of fertility. Stud bulls are registered with the Australian Brahman Breeder's Association (ABBA); unregistered paddock reared he

rd bulls are also available for purchase. We adhere to a stringent parental selection process that targets premium bulls and females and multiplying elite genetics through IVF. This process is supplemented by rigorous data including Estimated Breeding Values (EBVs) to assist purchasers to assess growth, fertility and carcass quality. Further, we have developed an innovative grading system for weaners to continually assess and record development against precise criteria, helping to identify elite animals at an early age. We concurrently assess strong visual traits (phenotype) backed by objective data (genotype). SALES: Stud bulls are available for inspection and purchase at annual sales including the Rockhampton Brahman Week Sale and the Big Country Sale, Charters Towers. FOR TENDER: Elite herd bulls are available by tender. BY APPOINTMENT: We welcome private inspections and stud visits by appointment. CONTACT DETAILS:

Another group of Rockley bulls through the yards for semen testing. Every bull is tested — including culls — so we can accurately record Percent Normal S***m (PNS) data for BreedPlan and continue selecting for fertility and functionality.

The bulls were praised by vet Stacey and her team for their temperament and scrotal size throughout the group. These bulls are running on grass and Leucaena, and we were lucky to receive 45mm of rain on Wednesday night. 😊🙌

A tidy pair of beefy red Brahman heifers here—plenty of depth, softness and doing ability. These girls are sired by Fairy Springs Duracell 3606 and are shaping up with all the right attributes we like to see. 😊

We feel incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to host a delegation of 35 visitors from Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay this week.

The day was proudly hosted by Pampa Genetics MP pampageneticsmp, with a special thank you to magdalenaparis2016 for bringing it all together.

A big thank you to our team, Jake and Amy, for the work behind the scenes to make the day run smoothly.

We were also lucky to have fogoco.au Fogo Brazilian BBQ Experience travel down from the Sunshine Coast to cater an incredible Brazilian BBQ feast — it was a highlight for everyone.

Appreciation as well to Paul William’s from Australian Brahman Breeders' Association Limited for presenting and sharing insights into Rockley’s genetic progress and insightful information on the Brahman breed.

Thank you to igtivfaustralia and Vytelle Australasia for their support and helping ensure the day ran seamlessly.

It was also great to have Bella Hanson join us from Queensland Country Life to cover the action.

There was strong interest in Frontier Genetics frontiergeneticsaustralia, along with plenty of complimentary comments about the sale and its direction as a world-leading program — something we’re very proud of.

It was a fantastic opportunity to connect, share knowledge, and showcase what we’re doing here — we’re very appreciative of the experience.

We’ve been busy in the yards this week getting through our weaner program.

Our weaners have had their 200-day weights recorded, flight times measured and vaccinations completed. The cows were also pregnancy tested, with mature cow weights taken and their annual vaccinations done.

Today the weaners headed out into the holding paddock for a fresh pick, always a good moment!

A beautiful, naturally quiet mob. We’re very proud of the balance we’re seeing between phenotype and genotype across this group.

A great insight here from NJ & MA Holland - Commercial CQ . Really puts things into perspective. We’ve been very fortunate with our season here in Central Queensland, and it’s not lost on us. Thinking of those doing it tough in the drier areas and hoping they get a break soon.

🌱 Forage Budget Insights from the Australian Feedbase Monitor 🌧️📊

When reviewing the Australian Feedbase Monitor through MLA to help complete our forage budget, it really hits home how lucky we are in Central Queensland to have had the rain we received over the wet season.

Once you zoom out to the national view, you can clearly see large areas of green and purple, indicating high levels of Total Standing Dry Matter (TSDM) and strong pasture availability in Northern Australia. 🙌

In contrast, around three-quarters of Australia has missed out, with extensive red areas highlighting low TSDM and tighter feed conditions. This really emphasises the variability across regions.

We’ve kicked off weaning at Rockley Brahmans and have reintroduced flight time recording after a few years.

Flight time measures how quickly cattle exit the crush and gives us a solid, objective indicator of temperament. While we’ve always been pleased with the natural quiet nature of our cattle, this data helps back up what we see every day.

It’s another step in ensuring we continue to provide our clients with genetics that are carefully measured and selected across all key traits.

"The year was 1970... at sale the bids stalled at $22,000 Dad hopped on & the bids went up $1,000 a time until $34,000 resulting in a record price for a bull in QLD at the time.
