If you appreciated mature Shiraz our 2000 is simply amazing, with dried fruits, fig and walnut aromas and typical herbal spiciness. Seductive slippery palate with fine tannins. Opened this beauty this evening as will some lovely Ararat friends do likewise.
$85 a bottle from cellar door.

Did you know that we made 2 vintages of Fortified Shiraz the 2019 and 2021 Lifeboat.

Both exemplary almost clones except the 2021 is 25% sweeter than the 2019 at 3 Be.. Both 19.7 % alc. and fortified with low strength brandy spirit, the 2019 sealed with a glass Vinoloc stopper and a matching iridescent blue capsule. The 2021 has a traditional cork and black wax finish.

A hogshead each was made, American for the 2019 and French oak for the 2021. Very limited bottling and only offered when 6 bottles of other Shirazes are purchased. Sad, I know but they're rare and very special.

Kaye and I are organic grapegrowers and just so happens because we use traditional winemaking the wines are as pure as driven snow.
Hand pruned, harvested and 100% handmade, what you get in our Shiraz is the essence of Grampians more accurately Moyston terrior.
Spicy licorice, plum and dark fruit like Christmas cake.
This is the start of a journey from vineyard to glass, proof is in the tasting.

Only 2 weeks until the Grampians Grape Escape get along and try some amazing wines.
Kaye and I will be there offering tasting and sales of our new release Shiraz from the 2023 and 2022 vintages plus the amazing Massif Reserve 2021 and maybe an older vintage or two.

Harvesting today and tomorrow, grape are looking terrific. Sugar levels and colour optimal couldn't ask better from the terrific Grampians.
