After a nice dinner last evening with life long friends Debbie and Barry, I'm back out amongst the vines working off Kaye's fantastic pavlova and a few lovely new vintage Shirazes.

Some respite from the rain during the last month, several fine days of recent and wet ground is less squishy under foot. Pulling some marshmallow out of the vineyard, we've incorpated compost from the horse manure and hay. The vines and soil love the organic matter with lots of worms creating new humus.
Thank you to everyone that came to the Red Series and bought our lovely Clayfield Shiraz.
We had a great time and look forward to doing it again next year. Cheers Simon and Kaye.

Three premium Grampians Shiraz winemakers showing their latest releases and special back vintages, get along.

There’s The Red Series and then there’s the Masterclass. It’s an opportunity that doesn’t come along very often (and maybe for these wines and producers all together, never again).

On the evening of Saturday 18th July an intimate group of just 45 guests will be joined by three of the Grampians’ most respected producers – Best’s Great Western, Grampians Estate and Clayfield Wines – for a 45-minute deep dive into the region’s most celebrated variety, Shiraz.

You'll be guided through a curated selection of rare and museum-release wines in a relaxed rotating small-group format and joining as co-host is Jeremy Oliver. He is one of the world’s top 20 wine critics and brings a lifetime of stories and expertise to the table.
