Robert Oatley Wines was founded in 2006 by the late Robert (Bob) Oatley AO BEM. Today the family business www.balmoralaustralia.com is led by Bob’s eldest son Sandy Oatley who, together with his father, brother and sister, planted the first Oatley family vineyards in the late 1960’s. Robert Oatley Wines celebrates the memory of Bob Oatley through a trio of labels: the maritime-influenced Signature

Series, the specific vineyard focused Finisterre, and the best of the best barrels under The Pennant. Focussing on wines from Margaret River and McLaren Vale, that consistently score over 90 points with the critics and having collected too many medals to detail, a number of the wines have been or are trophy winners but most importantly they’ve resonated with the wine-loving public around Australia and the world.

This time last week, we were enjoying a beautiful Sydney winter’s day at The Wharf Restaurant and Bar for a very special Vintners Lunch.

Second and third generation vintners Sandy & Nicky Oatley are thrilled that Robert Oatley has been ranked among Australia’s Top W**eries by The Real Review every year since the awards began in 2018.
The Top W**eries Certificate recognises w**eries that consistently produce outstanding w**es. Rankings are determined using a proprietary algorithm that assesses factors including w**e scores, recency, availability, value and tasting context over a two-year review period.
All w**es are tasted and reviewed blind by The Real Review tasting panel, led by Huon Hooke.
We’re looking forward to sharing some of our top scoring w**es at their Melbourne and Sydney tastings in July.
