These are delicious & a lovely edition to the Easter table.

Almost two weeks ago our farm was affected badly by a fire across the highway from us. It’s been quite tough as you can imagine .
Not someone who likes to let others down I went ahead with this incredible order from a wonderful repeat cake customer for their special event last Friday.
🥳25 years of Muzz Buzz ! 🥳
A mammoth full size sheet cake of over a metre long.
Beautiful, light lemon sponge filled with homemade lemon curd and lemon butter cream. Finished with my signature over the top style design.
Delivered by me to Mandoon Estate early Friday morning
It’s safe to say it went down very well by the 70 people at the Muzz Buzz conference

Easter is fast approaching
Orders being taken for these beautful hand crafted Simnel cakes.
With or without the 11 Apostles.

Simnel cake is my absolute favourite.
A lighter fruit cake with a thin centre of home made almond paste finished with the traditional almond paste top .
It’s truly delicious and a really lovely traditional cake for the Easter period however you may celebrate it.

Summer gluts continued
Egg plants , Zucchini, tomatoes, herbs, plus anthing else you have or fancy

Try this Mediterranean Greek inspired bake . It’s so good I have to double to recipe.
Serve with fish, meat, or just bread . Tonight I’m serving mine witb organic beef meatballs

Super simple but as we know, simple is usual the best . Give it a try you will love it

This authentic Briam recipe (Greek vegetable bake) features zucchini, eggplant, and potatoes roasted in tomato sauce and olive oil. A naturally vegan Greek casserole perfect as a main or side!

🌞🌞 Summer in a cake 🍓🍓
This beautiful soft Strawberry Dream Cake went out this morning to be enjoyed for a family baby shower celebration.
By all accounts it went down well so I’m happy.
Quite a show stopper but also tastes amazing.
Not a mud cake brick in sight 😉

Dreamy by nature
Featherlight light, soft vanilla bean sponge filled with a fresh strawberry Greek yogurt mousse.
Using Greek yogurt along with cream creates a delicious light filling that’s not overly sweet. And no gelatine required.
Blended with puréed fresh strawberries it makes for a truly beautifully summer cake perfect for any occasion.
This was for my daughter’s birthday today
This is a 3 layer large 20cm cake.

Who else loves stuffed zucchini flowers, in this case pumpkin flowers ( blossom )
Not only are they a beautiful, delicate treat mid summer they’re also a great way of making use of an abundance of useless male flowers !
Win win
I collected these from just one pumpkin plant over about 5 days . Not long really.
I made up my own recipe but for those who would like to give it a go here’s quite a nice one from good ole Jamie 0

Mid summer and Christmas is over here in sunny Perth Western Australia
Some things grow fairly easily and others require a lot more care and water than I can give them so I stick to easy and tough !
Our climate is similar to the hot dry southern European so things that grow there well, grow up in the Perth hills reasonably easily too.
Summer vege gluts call for some simple but delicious vegetable tarts and I’ve made two today for supper.
Our ducks are still laying well and these always come in handy.

Two beautiful beetroot, caramelised onion, silver beet , zucchini, walnut & feta tarts with a Maggie Beer sour cream, melt in the mouth,pastry shell !

As the last of the Christmas cakes head off I’d like to thank everyone who has supported my tiny side venture this season.
