The Vintner’s Daughter was established by husband and wife team, Stephanie Helm and Benjamin Osborne, in 2014 after they purchased a small winery and vineyard at Murrumbateman in the Canberra Cool Climate Wine District. The property is not far from where Stephanie grew up learning to make wine from her winemaker and vintner father, Ken Helm, at Helm Wines. With vines dating back to 1978 and situat

ed next to some of Murrumbateman’s most renowned vineyards the site was perfect for Stephanie and Benjamin to pursue their dream of creating their own unique style of wines. Our cellar door is open to the public on Friday & weekends from 10am to 4pm for tastings and sales. Our wines are also available to purchase from our website. Delivery to Canberra and Murrumbateman region is free. To ensure access to our wines when they are released and to be notified of tastings and events, please join our wine club or mailing list on our website. Harvest is nearly here and the winery is buzzing! 🍇

Nets are on, grapes are ripening, and we may be picking as soon as next week.

We’re closing the Cellar Door at 12.30pm today to prepare the winery for vintage — so if you’ve been thinking about a tasting, this is your sign to head over this morning and enjoy the cool weather and spectacular view.

Grape flowers may not be pollinated by bees but that doesn’t mean we don’t still love them!

Several years ago we built a top bar hive out of a wine barrel. Unfortunately those bees didn’t make it through the drought and smoke of 2019-20 but we’ve just settled a new swarm into the barrel and looking forward to some homegrown honey soon 🥰 🐝

☀️ Delicious wine, sleepy sheep, and thriving vines!

The vineyard is looking its best right now, and we’ve got plenty of special wines ready for you at the cellar door.
If you’re a Rosé lover, pop in or place your order this weekend — we’re running low, and so it will not be available at the cellar door after this weekend🥂

We had a close call last night with frost but I’m pleased to report that our 2025 crop is unharmed. Now if Mother Nature could just be kind for the next 4 months that would be great!

Unfortunately we are seeing more and more late frost events and damage from hail in the last few years - these are one of the lesser known predicted impacts from climate change and we are doing our best to prepare for it but it’s very hard to prepare for the unpredictable. We desperately hope that our fellow vineyard owners in all regions also escaped too much damage last night 🙏.

Just finished a little pop up tasting at one of our lovely Canberra stockists 🍷

Lots of fun and we are looking forward to doing a few more of these around town now that our kids are a bit older and we are a little less tired!

Found some special bottles hidden away on the shelves at Porters - our 2021 Shiraz Viognier and 2021 Syrah - we’ve sold out of both of these at the winery and so these may be the last ones available to buy! Run into Porters quick if they were your favourite - I know we get quite a lot of queries about the 2021 Syrah in particular.

Our much-loved Duck & Pinot Dinner is happening on Saturday, 30 August, and we’ve only got a few tables left.

The evening begins with canapés before settling into five courses that celebrate the versatility of duck. Complement your meal with an optional Pinot pairing, featuring some of our favourite local drops.

🌸 Signs of spring in the vineyard 🌸

🪻The first daffodils and spring stars have flowered.

💧 The dark patches on the vines and little droplets let us know the sap is flowing and the vines are waking up from winter.

🌿 The willow tree has green shoots - the previous owners of the vineyard told us the vines shoot two weeks after this happens!

And the final sign of spring - in a week we will have baby lambs! On this Friday we will be releasing the bookings for our special lamb farm tours in the October school holidays so keep watch on this page and be the first to book!
