Summer calving kicked off with this little beauty born last night. An Australian Purebred British White heifer for first-time mother, Dingo Trudi. Problem-free as per usual with the British Whites.

What a pleasure to train a new generation in the principles of regenerative grazing. Our British White cattle, being docile and well trained, are perfect for the job. By the end of the week this seven year was proudly able to move the cattle all by himself and, more importantly, understand why regular moves to fresh pasture are important.

Regular hatching of heritage breed farm chickens is now underway for this season. Thanks to all those patiently waiting to restock their chicken coop. First hatch is now 3 weeks old and pullets from this hatch will become available late November. As always, preference to previous buyers, locals and friends of Dingo Lane Farms.

Great story about a rediscovered herd of British White cattle and their resilience in the face of challenging climatic conditions in Western NSW. The story highlights the importance of preserving the genetics of heritage cattle breeds like the British White.

“Our British White cattle do so much better than other European breeds in Australia,” Kerrie says. “They are white with black points, which means when other darker coloured breeds are under trees trying to get away from the heat and flies, the British White are still out grazing. Their white coats and black points protect them from our harsh summers.”
