It is with profound sadness and the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of the very man who put Woolumbool on the map Phil Clothier.

Phil passed while enjoying retirement visiting his two sons Jason and Tristan and their families in Western Australia on Sunday evening.

This has come as a great shock and will be missed by many. He had a huge impact of the development of both breeds, Poll Dorset and White Suffolk having spent time on numerous committees for both, particularly Meat Elite and SuperWhites.

Phil had a passion for breeding sheep that is rarely matched.

Our thoughts are with Sharon, Jason and Elyse, Aaron and Sally, Tristan and their 12 grandchildren during this time of grief

Thrilled with how our Top Priced White Suffolk Ram is presenting!

Setting the bar high at our recent sale, Lot 59 – Woolumbool 244197, sold for $9,500 to Mark & Angas Richardson, Boothby Downs, Culburra, SA

The Richardson's were seeking an impact sire as they take steps toward registering their own stud.

“He had good growth and moderate adult weight; I don’t want my sheep getting too big,” said Mark Richardson.

"And the balance of figures was impressive; top 1 % for Lamb Eating Quality (174.47) and top 5 % for Post-Weaning Weight (20.16).”

Sincere thanks to Mark and Angus for their support and confidence in Woolumbool genetics.

What a day at Yacca Downs – one of our strongest results in recent seasons with near total clearance, new buyers and stud records within reach.

A big thank you to all bidders and underbidders for a fantastic result. We truly appreciate the interest in our program.
