Wrattonbully Wine Region

Wrattonbully Wine Region The region now draws winemakers and the attention of wine connoisseurs from around the world.

Wrattonbully - A secluded area of World Heritage-listed ancient geology, originally settled by hardworking farming pioneers, and more recently chosen for its ideal viticultural attributes. The Wrattonbully wine region lies over several ranges in the area surrounding Naracoorte, including the Naracoorte Range (also known as the Kanawinka escarpment – the original coastline of the continent of Gondw

analand). Wrattonbully is a region of ancient World Heritage-listed geology, which in more recent times has been chosen to establish a successful wine region due to its outstanding viticultural attributes. The first vines for winegrapes were planted in the late 1960s; however it was in the 1990s that the excellent soils and elevated sites attracted many winemakers from surrounding areas. Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz are the two main varieties grown, and Wrattonbully wines of these varieties are highly regarded for their complexity and elegance. Merlot and Chardonnay are also widely grown with great success - in fact the cool climate of the Wrattonbully wine region is proving suitable for many varieties.

🍂 Autumn in Wrattonbully and across the Limestone Coast is that beautiful in-between moment.

Harvest's buzz has faded and for now the work between the rows is done, so the vines can finally exhale into silence.

It's vineyards in their most reflective state: a season that doesn't arrive with a flourish, but simply settles in.

The vines feel calmer: no longer about growth, more about letting go.

A brisk 4°C in Wrattonbully this morning 🥶🧣🧤

After last week’s perfect ripening conditions, it's go time; picking Terre à Terre and DAOSA Cabernet Franc from their Crayères Vineyard.

And the word on the vine? This Cab Franc is shaping up to be their standout fruit of the entire '26 vintage. 🍇
