This exciting package arrived in the post from Lorelie | Australian Flower Farmer | Dahlias last week. They have been planted and are growing beautifully! 🌱

Dug up the lawn ✅ Built another dahlia bed ✅ Planted 18 tubers ✅ Officially out of space, but it may be time for pots? 😬🌸 😂

Planting has begun! Had a busy day dividing dahlia clumps, starting with Breannon (who was kindly gifted to me - thank you Ann!) and also divided lots of Carlos Watermelon. I was so relieved to see healthy eyes and shoots on most of my tubers in storage 👀 and they were planted out today. This season I’m adding lots of new cultivars including pom pons like Moor Place, and bold bright colours like the striking Winkie Cavalier.

Can’t get enough of these deep burgundy blooms! 🥰 Thelma Maude has me hooked and now this season I am adding some more dark cultivars to the patch. I’ll be planting Moor Place, Pride of Place, Nugget, Black Macopa and Pondicherry just to name a few! What is your favourite burgundy dahlia? Florelie Magpie is on my wish list but don’t have her yet 😊
