A celebration of authentic, healthy, and ethically crafted flavors, from the heart of New Zealand’s Tasman district.

We are a family business dedicated to creating vegan, gluten-free pies, using 100% organic ingredients. Rainbow Kitchen was born from a love for vegan cooking and a vision to offer products that not only feed but nourish and delight every person who tries them. Our founder, Pato Bonilla, has made this mission his life’s work. Starting at the Nelson market, Pato introduced his vegan pies to the public for the first time, and the reception was remarkable. Positive feedback and enthusiastic customer response allowed Rainbow Kitchen to grow, opening doors in various stores and cafés across New Zealand.

🌱 Exciting Packaging Update from Rainbow Kitchen! 🥧

We’re always looking for ways to make our pies kinder to the planet — and we’ve just taken another step forward! 💚

From now on, our pies will come wrapped in home-compostable cellophane bags. These bags might look like plastic, but don’t worry — they’re 100% plant-based, break down even faster than paper, and use fewer resources to produce. Plus, they keep your food safer and fresher.

At Rainbow Kitchen, caring for the environment is at the heart of everything we do 🌍 — and we want you to know we will never use disposable plastic to wrap our pies.

Compost it at home, enjoy your pie, and feel good about doing something good for the planet 💛✨

🔥 Check out our new label for the Walnut Ragu Pie — bright red, just like the rich ragu inside! ❤️🥧
From next week, you’ll find it in most of our outlets all around Aotearoa. 🌿✨

And the best part? Each pie comes wrapped in cellophane and paper — we chose cellophane because it uses fewer resources to produce, it’s eco-friendlier, and still home compostable. 🌍♻️
That means the whole packaging is planet-friendly! 💚
