Whistling Kite will be closed from the 21st August through to the 23rd August to get on top of some pesky maintenance issues. We'll be back on board, Monday 24th for tastings and sales.

No. The answer this time is not "wine" (but it usually is) it's "basket pressy".

Today we pressed off our vintage. One shot. One opportunity. One barrel.

Vintage 2026 marked the beginning of a new chapter for us at Whistling Kite Wines, a sharper focus... Less production... Focussed on growing grapes solely for the label... Selective, conscious, wine making, striving to express the best aspects of the best fruit we can produce. All the while proudly proclaiming "Riverland" as a premium wine producer and what can be accomplished through organic & biodynamic practices...

Initial Baume of 14.2, wild yeast, no additions at crush, sixteen days on skins.

It's gonna be a fire cracker...

It's been put to bed in one the same french oak barrels I used for vintage 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 25... More photos to follow ☺️
