Apparently this is what we would’ve looked like in the ’80s. And honestly, the shirts check out.

Wine trends come and go – and we’ve been around long enough to see quite a few of them. Back in the ’80s, Australian Chardonnay was big, golden, buttery and gloriously oaky. Table wine had overtaken fortified wine, cool-climate regions were beginning to make their mark, and Australian wine was starting to turn heads around the world.

The hair got smaller.
The shoulder pads disappeared.
The Chardonnay got a little less oaky.

But our love of discovering great Australian wine? That one stuck.

Since 1975, we’ve had a front-row seat to Australian wine changing, evolving and occasionally coming full circle.
