What an amazing innovation from the cheese industry! It seems the best thing we in the coffee industry can do with the majority of our waste (hessian bags and chaff) is to find a way to get it back into the ground asap. We at Silverskin have always been luckily and had no trouble finding takers for our waste, generally from market friends that garden or local gardening communities though I do wonder what the big players do with their waste? Even the big guys that roast tonnes per week buy it in the same size bags as us, and they would have quite a lot to rehome if it’s not just going into landfill.

The anyone aware of any non gardening ways to reuse these enmasse? There must be a great use of chaff just waiting to happen.
