Ok this is a new one for me a 100% green cork The cork inis a NOMACORC Select Green 100, made by Vinvention,despite looking somewhat like a natural cork, it is actually an engineered plant-based closure, not traditional cork bark. It is manufactured from renewable polymers derived largely . from sugarcane and is designed to be recyclable. This is a real break through as the likelihood of TCA is non existent with the potential for oxygen ingress occurring is so low, designed for bottle aging up to 15 years. This maybe a game changer the industry has as nothing beats the snap and pop of a wine cork. .gadd .suckling

Continuing my Bordeaux adventure, 2022 was an exceptional year for Bordeaux wines . The wine is characteristically has greater fruit concentration driven by black currants , graphite, cedar (cigar box) and elevated spices really lovely integrated soft tannins really delivers a lovely full bodied wine without the weight. Great value for money for those who like classic Bordeaux’s. .gadd

Ah I finally came across the infamous Two Church’s Riesling , a while back ABC South Australia did a great piece on this brand. To all intents and purposes it looks like a bespoke Riesling maker but sadly this is not the case. Trading on the Sevenhills brand it’s just another whir label corporate made wine. To the consumer it looks legit but it ain’t this is a great example of what is wrong with Australian wine at the moment. You ask why did I buy it well I wanted to see what $10.00 Riesling looked like . Let’s put it this way there are far better Clare Rieslings out there and you pay for what you get.

Slow cooked provincial chicken drumsticks, these are perfect for a cold winters night thanks to the quality products from and great quality products make such a noticeable offence. Slow cooking the meat fell off the drumstick , it gives such great satisfaction when you say “ this is a very tidy dish” paired with a lovely oily and waxy Italian Soave . Bon Appetite kids. .gadd

This cooler weather drives me back to spicier hotter foods and who can resist some baked chicken ( thank you ) enchiladas, they really do hit the spot , cooked in a green verde chilli sauce , touch of sour cream , guacamole 🥑 and you are good to go.
