Week 1 of Bambino in Italia 26’ 🇮🇹🍷

From the eternal streets of Rome to the chaotic charm of Napoli, this first chapter has been one unforgettable celebration of Italian food, wine and culture.

Rome never disappoints. On our sixth or seventh visit, the city continues to reveal new stories around every corner. Between ancient monuments and hidden piazzas, we revisited iconic Roman flavours like Carbonara and Cacio e Pepe, while discovering the incredible depth of the local cuisine through dishes such as Coda alla Vaccinara, slow-cooked oxtail in rich tomato sauce with freshly made fettuccine. Paired, of course, with a glass of elegant Cesanese.

Then it was aboard the Frecciarossa to Napoli.

A city bursting with energy, history and character. We wandered through the Centro Storico, along Spaccanapoli, explored the Spanish Quarter and took in breathtaking views from Castel Sant’Elmo across Mt Vesuvius, Sorrento and Capri.

And the food? Mamma mia.

Pizza Napoletana, panini, fritto misto, pizza fritta and enough pasticceria to keep us dreaming long after we’ve left. The sfogliatelle alone were worth the journey.

Beyond Napoli, the volcanic hills of Campania led us to Avellino and the spectacular wines of the region: Greco di Tufo DOCG, Fiano di Avellino DOCG and Taurasi DOCG.

A true highlight was spending time with the Pizza family and our great producers 𝑻𝑬𝑵𝑼𝑻𝑨 𝑫𝑬𝑳 𝑴𝑬𝑹𝑰𝑮𝑮𝑰𝑶 . Passionate custodians of their land, their organic vineyard practices and dedication to preserving Campania’s winemaking traditions embody everything we love about Italian wine.

One week down. Countless stories, photos, flavours and glasses shared.

And we’re only just getting started.

Salute! 🍷🇮🇹

🇮🇹 Vino Bambino in Italia 2026 🍷

Soon we’ll be returning to Southern Italy to spend time with the producers, families and vineyards that sit at the heart of our portfolio.

Our journey begins in Rome before heading to Campania, where we’ll reconnect with our friends at . We’ll walk the vineyards, taste through new vintages and continue the conversations that help us better understand the land, people and traditions behind their wines.

From there, we’ll travel south to Calabria to visit Christian Vumbaca of in the historic Cirò region. Spending time amongst these vineyards provides invaluable insight into one of Italy’s most fascinating wine regions and the generations of knowledge that continue to shape its future.

Our journey then takes us to Sicily, where we’ll explore the dramatic landscapes surrounding Mount Etna and visit the remarkable old vineyards of . We’ll also meet with prospective artisan producers as we continue searching for authentic expressions of indigenous Sicilian varieties that reflect the character of their place and people.

These visits are a vital part of what we do. They allow us to strengthen relationships with the producers we proudly represent, discover new stories to share, and ensure every wine in our portfolio has a genuine connection to its origins.

Follow along as we share vineyard visits, regional food, wine discoveries and behind-the-scenes moments from across Southern Italy.

Salute 🇮🇹🍷

✨ PRODUCER SPOTLIGHT ✨

This week we head to Tuscany, just outside Arezzo, to , a historic estate where winemaking is deeply rooted in land, family and time. 🍷🌿

Dating back centuries, Il Palazzo was once a working agricultural village along ancient trade routes before being revived by the Banelli family in the 1950s. Today, it remains a multi-generational estate, producing wines that stay true to the traditions of the region while embracing a more thoughtful, sustainable approach to farming.

Set among rolling hills, vineyards and olive groves, their focus is simple, let the land speak. Sangiovese leads the way here, delivering wines that are rustic yet refined, structured yet effortlessly drinkable.

This is classic Tuscany - honest, timeless and made for the table, which many Aussies are starting to love and appreciate.
