Thanks, BEES! 🐝 🧡🐝🧡🐝
I've been thinking a lot of farmers crops would bee suffering due to the loss of bee's in that area.
We have some beautiful honeycomb atm.
Get in touch with the CEO (Denise) if u would like some.
Checked out these hives yesterday with the legend Graham Gosper and he seemed to think they were ok.

Happy birthday to the CEO of Pure n Natural Honey

So we done it yesterday 😀
Happy birthday Dear.
Nice picture of my work site.
I've got the next generation beekeepers back helping, put 18 new queens out and checked a few from a week ago. And a big storm on the way home measured 52mm.
I'll sleep well tonight it was hot as, we had ants attack one bloke at midnight, rain 2am, dogs excited about 3 and pancakes withleft over marshmallows for breakfast😀
Some Native Bee's I found a while back.
Nuplas boxes Australian made.
5 minutes and they are ready for work. No dipping painting and waiting a month for it to dry out like wood.
Two man job though😀😀

That will cut the mowing down around the hives at home.
People often ask do the cows knock the hives over, as a rule they learn to stay about a meter off them.
Merry Christmas to all and thanks for the support over the year.
Took some more honey off last week and when I got home I thought Denise would of been excited but she said all she could see was work. 😀
I put a few test hives out in different areas to see if honey is coming in to see if it's worthwhile moving bee's in, guessing this area looks fairly good.
Denise is at the farmers market today.

I moved a few hives the other night 400km.
It was a beautiful night for moving nice and cool and all of the bee's were on board in hives just after dark except for this small bunch on the back of the trailer, I thought they would of fell off but they hung there for the whole trip.
Must have suction caps on their feet😀
This is a place in . It's proven that breathing air from a beehive is very beneficial for ones health. Hive air contains ingredients that boost the body healing capacity. This is just more evidence that backs up why it is that have the highest life expectancy in the world. Everything the produces is of the highest value to humans.
…Beekeepers have the lowest incidence of cancer of all the occupations worldwide. This fact was acknowledged in the annual report of the New York Cancer Research Institute in 1965. Almost half a century ago, the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, Vol. 9(2), Oct., 1948, published a report by William Robinson, M.D., et al., in which it was claimed that bee pollen added to food (in the ratio of 1 part to 10,000) prevented or delayed the appearance of malignant mammary tumour.
L.J. Hayes, M.D had the courage to announce, “Bees sterilise pollen by means of a glandular secretion antagonistic to tumours.” Other doctors, including Sigmund Schmidt, M.D., and Ernesto Contreras, M.D., seem to agree that something in pollen works against cancer.
Dr W. Schweisheimer also said that scientists at the Berlin Cancer Institute in Germany had never encountered a beekeeper with cancer. A French study concerning the cause of death of 1,000 beekeepers included only case of a beekeeper that died of cancer. The incidence of cancer-caused deaths in a group of French farmers was 100 times higher than the group of beekeepers.
Till date, no study has faulted the fact that beekeepers have very low, almost negligible incidence of cancer worldwide. Due to the weight of this fact and coupled with his experience, John Anderson, Professor of beekeeping, University of Aberdeen, unequivocally declared: “Keep bees and eat honey if you want to live long. Beekeepers live longer than anyone else”.
I had a little apprentice keen to put on a suit and help Grandpa check the hives this morning.
Might have a future beekeeper on our hands.
Nice way to spend the long weekend taking some honey off and making up a few nucs.
Some nice strong hives

The next day after the rain the otherday. The bee's were glad to see the sunshine and go to work. Did you know they won't leave the hive untill it's close to 15 degrees they stay at home and keep the hive warm.
I melted down some beeswax today for one customer and some for Satos Digeridoo aswell. It never ceases to amaze me the different uses of beeswax, I probably hear a different use every month. Everything from Body lotions Lip balm Cutting compounds for drilling and cutting aluminium. Furniture polished Leather dressing Wound healing Food wraps Dipping beeboxes And many more. What do you use it for?
Rain rain and more rain! I'm thinkin the bees have had enough for a while and would bee sick of sitting around sharpening up their stinger. Each hive can eat up to 1kg of honey a day so if you don't find resources for them they will starve. Moved them last night to a drier area and lucky I did as it's raining again at home now.
Just thought I would show this. These cages have a new queen bee and escorts (worker bee's) ready to be put into hives to replace older queens. The interesting part is the length of their tongues eating the sugar syrup i put on the cage. Around 5mm long
Lost some sweat a few days ago moving these hives up out of flood reach. Only moved 4km so didn't need to fill the log book out😀
In checked this yard of bees the other day around 10.30 and didn't see a bee flying. But about 100 or more rainbow bee eating birds sitting around hammering any bee game to move. Looks like this load will need to be moved.
We opened up one of our large native bee hives yesterday. We purchased this hive about 4 years ago and it has always been a strong hive, it's more the size of a honey bee box. We had to open it from the side, the top is not accessible. It was interesting to see the hive structure from a side angle.
Our bees are doing a great job pollinating these fruit trees. Fun fact: Bees are responsible for approximately 1/3 of total food production. 🐝
🐝🐝🐝 Denise is at the Showgrounds Growers Market this morning with our delicious raw honey. You will find her in the middle row, look for our logo. Come along and say hi.
Did you know there are a variety of roles for bees within the hive depending what stage of life they are at? 🐝Nurse bees when they first hatch out. Nurse bees feed and look after the larvae in the hive for approximately the first eight days of their life in the hive. As they are promoted, they have more important roles such as fanning the hive and they start to produce wax glands. 🐝Worker bees This is the last stage of the bees lives, worker bees will only live around five weeks in total if it is really hot and they are working hard. Worker bees are all females and are infertile. They are the older bees which have been promoted from nurse bees to working bees. These girls are responsible for leaving the hive and foraging for nectar and pollen and protecting the hive 🐝Queen There is only one queen bee in a hive if she no longer performs the worker bees will give her the cuddle of death and produce a new queen for their colony. A new virgin queen leaves the hive once to go on a mating flight, mating with up to 12 drones in flight, the drones die after mating. The Queen lives up to 5 years and in her prime will lay up to 2000 eggs a day. 🐝Drones Drones are male bees. They do not work or contribute to the colony. Their only purpose is to mate with Queen bees. In tough times, the worker bees will evict the drones from the hive.

I was called out to another swarm yesterday. It actually didn't end up being a swarm but an established colony in a tree in their front yard. They have done well to survive after all the rain we have had in the last few weeks. We removed them and moved them out of town before we worked with them anymore as it was a built-up residential area and we didn't want them getting too cranky.
Donna from The Leap rang me about a swarm on the ground in their backyard, I put the box down and they marched straight in.
Interesting morning, I rescued these little native bees out of a fishing boat. The owner wasn't sure what they were but lucky his mate knew and they contacted me. They will build anywhere.
I worked these hives yesterday they don't get much stronger than this. I made some nucs up out of some and added boxes to others to give the Queen more room to lay and prevent them from swarming. Make sure you keep up to date with your brood work this time of year. I have talked to a few people this week that have had their hives already swarmed.
We have a large of beekeeping equipment including Oz Armour suits and gloves. We also stock 🐝Flat pack bee hives 🐝Hive top and bottoms 🐝Empty frames 🐝Waxed frames 🐝Flat pack frames 🐝Hive tools 🐝Prickly roller 🐝Bee brush If you need something we haven't listed just send us a message, we may have it in stock.
