FRIDAY TASTING:
4pm - 7pm
We love an opportunity to pour wines made by someone who has helped shape the Australian wine landscape. For this week's Tastings we're profiling Rowe Wines, the Margaret River project of legendary winemaker Richard Rowe.
Richard's career spans over five decades, beginning under the mentorship of Brian Croser and accumulating an astonishing record of more than 400 gold medals and 200 international trophies along the way. His influence is seen on some of Australia's most iconic wine regions, and his reputation as one of the country's most accomplished winemakers is thoroughly deserved.
The Rowe philosophy is simple: identify exceptional vineyard sites, focus on Margaret River's greatest varieties and let the region speak. The result is a small collection of Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon that showcases precision, place and authenticity in equal measure.
We're also sneaking into the lineup some wines from Otherland, a next-generation project run by Richard's son. Otherland works with exceptional vineyard sites and family winemaking expertise to create wines that are accessible, modern and seriously impressive for the money.
The Margaret River wines are still crafted by Richard, creating a fascinating link between generations and winemaking philosophies.
So, what are we drinking...?
