FRIDAY TASTING:
4pm - 7pm
We love an opportunity to pour wines made by someone who has helped shape the Australian wine landscape. For this week's Tastings we're profiling Rowe Wines, the Margaret River project of legendary winemaker Richard Rowe.

Richard's career spans over five decades, beginning under the mentorship of Brian Croser and accumulating an astonishing record of more than 400 gold medals and 200 international trophies along the way. His influence is seen on some of Australia's most iconic wine regions, and his reputation as one of the country's most accomplished winemakers is thoroughly deserved.

The Rowe philosophy is simple: identify exceptional vineyard sites, focus on Margaret River's greatest varieties and let the region speak. The result is a small collection of Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon that showcases precision, place and authenticity in equal measure.

We're also sneaking into the lineup some wines from Otherland, a next-generation project run by Richard's son. Otherland works with exceptional vineyard sites and family winemaking expertise to create wines that are accessible, modern and seriously impressive for the money.

The Margaret River wines are still crafted by Richard, creating a fascinating link between generations and winemaking philosophies.

So, what are we drinking...?
- Rowe Margaret River Wilyabrup Chardonnay 2025
- Rowe Margaret River Karridale Chardonnay 2024
- Rowe Wilyabrup Cabernet Sauvignon 2024
- Otherland Chardonnay 2024
- Otherland Cabernet Sauvignon 2024

One family, decades of winemaking experience and a shared commitment to producing wines with integrity. Come down, meet the wines and discover why we're so excited to have them on the table this week.

One of North Freo's best-kept secrets sits below the ground.
Down the stairs you'll find our cellar collection: a treasure trove of rare, collectible and carefully cellared wines from Australia and around the world.

It's where the serious Barolo, Burgundy, Bordeaux, Champagne and Australian icons live. (Most people don't realise it's there!)

Next time you're in, venture down or ask for a tour. We love showing you around.

Bordeaux v Margaret River: Battle of the Chardonnay V2.0 is ready for you!
The first iteration of this even sold out in record time, so the guys are going again on 21st of July!

Join Blair Hill from the and OBC's Jay Beeson as they go head-to-head, championing their respective regions across four brackets of increasingly serious Chardonnay. Blair will make the case for Burgundy. Jay will fly the flag for Margaret River. You get to decide who wins.

Across the evening, you'll taste eight benchmark wines, two in each bracket, culminating in a final showdown featuring bottles valued at more than $250 (RRP).

A carefully curated cheese board will accompany the tasting, designed to complement the texture, complexity and elegance of the wines. The Burgundy line-up includes some of the region's most exciting names, including Marcel Servin (Chablis), Pernot Belicard and the highly regarded Benjamin Leroux, one of Burgundy's modern superstars.

Margaret River will be represented by producers including Leeuwin Estate, Juniper Estate and others still to be revealed. This is a rare opportunity to taste world-class Chardonnay side by side, exploring how terroir, climate and winemaking philosophy shape one of the world's greatest grape varieties.

Book your spot early or avoid disappointment!

It was a real privilege to spend some time with Ralph Hochar, third-generation custodian of the legendary Château Musar in Lebanon's Bekaa Valley. Lebanon's winemaking history stretches back more than 6,000 years, and few producers have done more to put the country's wines on the world stage than Musar.

True to form, the wines showed beautifully. We tasted the newly released Château Musar 2018, the Musar Museum Release 2010, alongside the Hochar Père et Fils 2020, Jeune Rosé and Jeune Red.

What continues to make Musar so fascinating is its commitment to releasing wines with bottle age, allowing them time to develop the complexity and character that have made the estate one of the wine world's true icons.

An extraordinary producer, remarkable wines and a wonderful reminder that some of the world's most compelling wine stories come from outside the obvious places!

Friday Tasting: Rustenberg (+ Boerewors on the BBQ)
4pm - 7pm
This week, we're trying something a little different and spesh. A little slice of South Africa to North Fremantle... on the pour AND boerewors!

Joining us will be Murray Barlow, third-generation owner and winemaker of the iconic Rustenberg Wines, one of Stellenbosch's most respected estates. Murray will be pouring through the range personally, giving you the opportunity to taste the wines alongside the person who helps make them.

The line-up showcases everything that has made Rustenberg a benchmark South African producer: bright, textured whites, serious Chardonnay, elegant reds and some of the Cape's most celebrated wines.

So, what are we drinking...?
- Chenin Blanc
- Regional Chardonnay
- RM Nicholson Shiraz Blend
- Estate Cabernet
- Peter Barlow Cabernet

And because no South African wine experience is complete without something to eat, Justin will be firing up the BBQ out front and serving traditional handmade boerewors rolls loaded with the legendary Mrs H.S. Ball's Chutney: a sweet, tangy South African institution that sparks joy in every bite.

Better yet, buy any bottle of Rustenberg and your boerewors roll is on us! Come for a taste, leave with dinner sorted and a much deeper appreciation for one of South Africa's great wine estates.
