Tutto qua is the italian expression for “That’s all!” For us, Food, Friends, Wine & Love are everything. And of course the thing that ties these all together…family! "For a long time now, we've traveled abroad and extensively in our home towns to try different dishes. Dishes which at times can be a hit to the hip pocket and leave you a little dissatisfied. After venturing out, we always find our w
ay back home to devour the dinners mamma has prepared for us. Those are the dishes that we will remember forever, and with persistence and a little luck, will be passed on from mother to child for many generations to come. These dishes are called ‘I piatti poveri di casa’, translated as the ‘poor dishes of the home’…but we reckon whoever coined that phrase must’ve been out of their mind. Or stupidly filthy rich". Clara Mongelluzzi of .IT is a native of Foce Varano, a wonderful coastal town in the region of Puglia, with a rich fishing heritage. Recently emigrating to Australia,Clara quickly noticed the lack of access to basic foods prepared with the simplicity and soul of those back home. Growing up in an eatery in the town of ‘Rodi Garganico’, she has been afforded a wealth of experience to bring to our shores...and plates. Davide and Stefano Marcianò, also have Pugliese origins and have a long-standing affiliation with their home town, Corigliano d'Otranto, in the Salento peninsula. Some childhood time spent in Italian schooling and yearly trips back there have gifted them a strong yearning for all cultural and lifestyle marks of Italy. They grew up and love their hometown of Melbourne but spent their youth attending parties dressed as Roman centurions and eating mortadella panini every Saturday, whilst trading wine and accordions as a hobbie! Nick Guglielmino, the 4th founding partner of the .IT team, is a professional wine-maker, recently re-located to Mebourne from his hometown of Griffith, NSW. Whilst living in Taormina, Sicily and working as a dive instructor in the Giardini Naxos, he too fell in love with ‘la bella vita’ (the beautiful life), and how understanding the Italian way of life was all about understanding and enjoying the simple pleasures. The .IT team have come together to embrace all the cultural, culinary, musical, and lifestyle elements they've experienced through their similar yet vastly diverse relationships with Italy. "For us, being Italian is not just about "fare la Bella Figura" ([being] a beautiful figure). For us, its a combination of tangible and intangible things that when brought together leave you feeling good about yourself and the people around you. We hope we can connect our love for the simple things with you, and more importantly enjoy them together"
IT…tutto qua!
