Ten Miles East An artisan vineyard and winery tucked in a Norton Summit valley within the cool climate of South Australia’s famed Adelaide Hills.

We firmly believe great wines are grown, not made. On our nine-acre estate, tucked within a valley just off Old Norton Summit Road on the way to Basket Range, we focus on growing small quantities of exceptional quality grapes. Using only these estate-grown grapes, we create six small-batch wines, handmade in the European way we fell in love with while travelling the world. Our wines are made gentl

y, without rushing. We use wild ferments, a slower, less aggressive process that better preserves each grape’s flavour, and steer away from mountains of additives. We then allow our wines to collect themselves with time on lees and, when suitable, extended skin contact. And we produce very limited amounts, especially of our reds – often not more than a barrel or two of each. The result is small, handmade batches of unique and incredibly fine wine. YES - WE ARE OPEN FOR EASTER!!

We are open from noon to 5pm Easter Saturday and Sunday as per normal, so if you are not heading out of town, why not come and see us! Regular tastings incorporating our interactive food to wine pairing experience are available. Bring a picnic if you wish to hang around for a while.

LONG-TABLE LUNCH CANCELLATION!!

We have had to change our plan for our first long-table lunch set down for this Saturday March 8th due to a family illness amongst the team. So our apologies for this cancellation, but we still have dates in April and May allocated and will confirm these shortly.

We are open every weekend throughout the year and nothing changes for the festive season. The weekends from now through to the New Year are listed below and we are open for all of them -

AUGUST AT TEN MILES EAST!!
As usual we are open each weekend over August from 12noon to 5pm on both days. In addition to our normal tastings, we have a couple of things happening on the weekend of August 9th and 10th as outlined below

Saturday August 9th – museum releases of Sauvignon Blanc and Saperavi!
We will have 4 vintages of Sauvignon Blanc and 6 vintages of Saperavi from as early as 2009 available to taste.
Tastings available from 12noon to 5 pm.
You don’t need to book a time, the cost for the tasting is $25 and is waived with any wine purchase.

Sunday August 10th – our Paella Man lunch is back!
The team from Paella Man are back at Ten Miles East to present their $50 per person - 3-course luncheon. Email bookings can be made direct to Paella Man on [email protected] and just let them know any dietary requirements. Aaron will communicate with you regarding your reservation.
These lunches are great fun and excellent value so make your booking now!

IN JULY & AUGUST WE ARE CELEBRATING THE WINEMAKING HISTORY OF TEN MILES EAST!!

Prior to our take over in 2013 and the emergence of the Ten Miles East label as you now know it, our family purchased the property in late 2000, planted the vineyard on the site of the original apple orchard and spent a whole lot of time, expertise and energy figuring out a few things which have been invaluable to us. And of course they made wines!

In July & August, we offer you the opportunity to taste some of the wine history of this vineyard - a chance to try some of these older wines side by side with a range of vintages of our wines under the current Ten Miles East label. These will all be available to purchase in small volumes. We are not taking bookings for formal time slots so you can roll up anytime in the afternoon on the two dates we have set down for these tastings as below –

Saturday July 19th - Riesling and Syrah!
5 vintages of Riesling and 4 vintages of Syrah from as early as 2008 will be open for you to try.
Tastings available from 12noon to 5 pm.
The cost for the tasting is $25 and is waived with any wine purchase.

Saturday August 9th – Sauvignon Blanc and Saperavi!
4 vintages of Sauvignon Blanc and 6 vintages of Saperavi from as early as 2009 will be available to taste.
