Our Pure Honey presented us with a special little red bull calf this morning

Super proud of the docility of these heifers.

Lisa has done a great job helping break two heifers for the National All Breeds Heifer Show 2026!!

Leading off very well for only having had a halter and human touch for 4 hours before hand!!

Looking forward to see how they grow and improve over the next couple of months!!

Maddie spent the afternoon down at Nowendoc photographing this years sale bulls for Logie Simmentals

The bulls also had a date with Krud from Bovine Breeders, making sure they are fit for the job 👌🏻

This girl GJBU009 Ultimate Honey is a favorite at Logie. Last night she delivered twins with her first pregnancy.

After watching her for the afternoon and giving her the two hour window after water breaking, we decided to assist her.
Lucky ,as we found the calf coming back feet first.
Once positioning the feet it was quite an easy pull, so potentially she may have done it herself, but not worth the risk.

As they say, if the back feet come first there is a chance that there is a second calf to come, and so true. The first little guy obviously couldn't quite find the room to do a uturn.

After checking the pulled calf we left her for the night to do her mummy duties.

And this morning we were greeted with a lovely surprise of a second calf being dutifully delivered and cared for. What a great Mother!

This beautiful young cow has given our family a lot of joy and ribbons in the show ring and is now contributing to our herd.

The girls are home and settling for calving to start in 3 weeks.

Part of our management plan is to wean late Feb and send our cows to graze in our steeper bush country which has been locked up all summer

This helps strengthen there muscles and feet, having to walk steep country and graze bushland and gives our improved country a chance to grow and recover before calving and winter.

These Simmental, angus cows have come out looking fit and fresh. They have had their 7in 1,pestigaurd, multimin shots and worm/fluke treatment so ready to power on through calving

We love having our commercial herd as we can show our genetics working and prove the incredible advantages of using Simmental bulls in a cross-breeding program.

We are lucky to have been getting some rain and no major frosts yet so hopefully we can keep the encroaching dry at bay. Although our pastures are not as good as we would like comming into winter we appreciate what we do have and give hugs to all of our friends who are desperately needing rain. Hang in there guys 🙏
