Elderton Wines - proudly owned and operated by the Ashmead family for 43 vintages. The beautiful building provides great spaces to give you the experience you desire – from a casual tasting at the bar which looks out over our 1894 Command Vineyard, to an in-depth hosted tasting in one of our private tasting rooms, or relax and enjoy a glass of wine with a cheese plate.

A brilliant evening celebrating Elderton Wines, hosted by The Brisbane Club 🍷

Allister Ashmead guided members through an exceptional journey across eight acclaimed Elderton wines—featuring two standout vintages each of our Ashmead Cabernet Sauvignon and iconic Command Shiraz. Paired with a thoughtfully crafted seasonal menu, it was a night of rich stories, great food, and great company.

Behind these walls is a little piece of Elderton history.

Our Cellar Door is the 1918 homestead Neil and Lorraine Ashmead bought as the family home in the 1980s. After an extensive renovation, it reopened in 2017 as the Elderton Cellar Door.

With cosy tasting spaces throughout the house and views into the ‘Duke’ cellar, every room has a story to tell.

Today we’ve had a look at how the 2026 red wines are tracking 🤩

We hold a post-vintage tasting each year, as a way to chat about the parcels from vintage, from both a vineyard and winery perspective, and to see how the wines are progressing.

It’s been a small vintage, so there were only 38 wines on the bench this year. Al, Brock, Cam and Jules and Conrad shared their thoughts, and we’ll be watching these wines closely over the coming weeks and months.
