20 years of Eddie’s Old Vine Shiraz. Three vintages. One weekend. 🍷

This weekend at Atze’s Corner, we’re opening three vintages of Eddie’s Old Vine Shiraz side by side.

2006 | The second Eddie’s we ever made, now 20 years old. We’ve even pulled a few bottles from the house cellar for the weekend.

2012 | From one of the great Barossa vintages.

2023 | The brand-new release.

It’s not often we open w**es like the 2006 and 2012, so this is a pretty rare chance to sit down and see how Eddie’s has evolved over nearly two decades.

The special tasting is running Friday 9th, Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th October at our cellar door.

It is a paid tasting, with complimentary tastings for our w**e club members and their guests. We’ll also have a few Eddie’s back-vintage and release specials available exclusively at cellar door across the weekend.

The people who came before us.

There are a lot of generations looking down from the walls around Atze’s Corner.

Our Kalleske family story in Australia goes right back to the early settlers who left Prussia for a new life here. Generation after generation has farmed in the Barossa since, and we’re pretty fortunate to still be doing it today.

These photos are a good reminder that what we have now didn’t start with us. The land, the vineyards, the knowledge and probably a fair bit of stubbornness have all been handed down along the way.

The newest photo on the wall is Barb.

Today marks one year since we said goodbye to her.

Barb and John worked the vineyards side by side for decades, and she was a huge part of Atze’s Corner from the beginning. We miss her every day around the vineyard, w**ery and cellar door.

So today we’re raising a glass to Barb, and to all those who came before us.

Forever the heartbeat of this place ❤️

You know it’s been a good weekend when Dad’s checking the rain gauge before breakfast. 🌧️

Another beautiful soaking across the state & especially at home here in the Barossa, adding to what’s been a very good winter for rainfall.

The creeks are flowing, the ground is real wet and the gum boots are getting a work out!

After some pretty dry seasons, seeing the country like this is bloody terrific.

A very welcome sight heading towards spring ☀️

🍇 Twenty years ago, Andy started to make the first “Bachelor” Shiraz in Mum and Dad’s car shed.

At the time, the idea was simple. Make the best w**es we could from a handful of the family’s best vineyards and see where they could take us.

Bachelor is named after Bert Kleinig, a lifelong bachelor who once farmed the land where these vineyards still grow today. None of us imagined we’d still be opening those first bottles twenty years later.

Looking back, it’s also a good excuse to thank the many family and friends who helped along the way, especially Mum & Dad, Barb & John. None of our w**es would be here without them 🙏

To celebrate, we’re opening the 2006 inaugural release, the 2015 museum release and the 2020 vintage for a rare side-by-side tasting, giving you the chance to see how Bachelor has evolved over two decades 🍷

Summer of Sunsets is back — Christmas edition! 🎄🌅

Live music, epic food, Atze’s w**e and those unbeatable Barossa views…
Come bring in the festive season with us next Saturday, 13th December!

We’ve got Tightrope (Claudio Vozzo & Marco Chipillo) on the back of the truck with their dance-floor favourites, these guys always get the place pumping. Grab your friends, book a table, settle in on the lawn and enjoy a chilled-out sunset session overlooking the valley with a glass of w**e in your hand.

And the weather is looking 29°C and perfect… where else would you rather be? 🌅
