Another fantastic Mt Pleasant Show!

With 108 entries and 27 exhibitors across a wide range of breeds, it’s clear the Beef Cattle section just keeps getting stronger every year. Huge thanks to the Mt Pleasant Show Society, and to cattle conveners Carla and Kevin, for putting together such a great event once again.

Amrabull Park exhibited two Highland heifers and a young Belted Galloway bull this year. While they didn’t place, we couldn’t be prouder of what we brought along — they looked an absolute treat. Liam and Alexis had Team Highland covered, Jacqui flew the flag for Team Beltie, and Perle, Quin, and Wade were all presented and handled with real professionalism.

On a personal note, I want to sincerely thank the Larritt-Gerritsen, Atkinson, Palk, and of course the Carter-Godly families. You’ve been the real backbone behind everything. Not being able to be hands-on in the lead-up — training, preparing, setting up — has been tough, but knowing everything (and everyone!) was in such capable, passionate hands made it so much easier, both physically and mentally.

I’m very much looking forward to being back in action once I’m fully mended — working alongside you all instead of just giving directions 😅

And this morning Charlotte added another member to the Amrabull Park family! A beautiful dark red heifer!

Full sister to our Primrose Jade, this already very much of a diva looks to be like every part of her sister. Beautiful dark red along with a little extra white in places, we think her name is very appropriate.

The Irish and Gaelic name Roan mean "red- haired" as well as "animal with a coat of two interspersed colours". As she will no doubt come with the frosting just like her sister making her very much Roan in colour and carrying the same Jade name of her line, we think this name is perfect.

Born only hours ago, this strapping boy has already won some hearts and has real character and a beautifully calm nature. A quick, text book calving, this is the first bull that Larry and Eevie have produced together. We have been stoked with the heifers born from this pairing, so it will be interesting to see if Riff grows out just as good (he already looks to fit the bill!)

Named Riff Raff thanks to our neighbour, who was playing AC/DC plenty loud enough for Eevie to calve to. I don't think she minded either 😉

Better late than never! Before we announce our latest calf, here is a very special one that was born prior.

DOB: 14/02/26

Sweet but full of sass, Ruby is Nylah's first calf and boy did she deliver the goods and is a brilliant mother.

Ruby is named with both Valentines Day and her Grandsire (Larimar) in mind. She carries the Grace name as do all of the girls from her grandam's (Eevie Grace) line.

Working with Liam has been an absolute gift! We are so proud of how far he has come in such a short time. A natural when it comes to cattle handling.

Thank you to Liam and his wonderful family for also helping us out time and time again, both on farm and out at events. We really appreciate it.

This season has been a tough one, and unfortunately that means even some of the good ones have to move on to help cover the hefty cost of buying in feed.

We have retained one full sister and potentially another, each sister being as consistent as each other. A regrettable offer to say the least.
