And it’s finally dry enough to get the last of our potatoes planted for the season!!!

We only had 25 tonnes left to go before it started raining and we ended up with a whopping 100mm of rain 2 weekends ago!! We are a week later than normal so here’s hoping we don’t get any early frosts🤞🤞

Now the next crisis……can we can get enough diesel to keep the wheels turning??!!😬😰

🚜 Experienced Tractor Driver – Full Time | Woorinen VIC
We’re looking for an experienced, capable operator to take ownership of ground prep and seeding on our busy vegetable farm.
This role is critical to our success — hitting plant dates and producing quality seedbeds matters.
Key work includes:
* Discing
* Deep ripping
* Bed forming
* Seeding
* Scraper bucket & general machinery work

We’re looking for someone who:
* Has experience with large tractors & machinery
* Works to high standards with minimal supervision
* Understands farming, weather & time-critical decision making
* Has the confidence to stop when conditions aren’t right
* Treats machinery with mechanical empathy
* Communicates well and takes pride in their work

Full-time role | Based at Woorinen�Modern machinery | Hardworking team | Real responsibility

Well….. it’s bloody hot, so hot it’s the hottest day we’ve ever recorded on farm!

2 temp gauges on 2 of our sites 10klms apart reading the same temp of just over 49° in the shade!!😳🫠🫠🫠

So far so good with the crops. We have never seen a day so hot with no wind. Usually when it’s this hot we have a raging NW wind that burns the eyeballs out of your head but today has been so still, and it’s gone a long way to helping crops survive the day!! Thankful for the Cummins Inc irrigation pumps which have worked their absolute asses off in scorching heat keeping crops hydrated and our coolrooms running cold, and also the staff who have been starting work at midnight to get produce packed in the cool of of the night to ensure the best possible freshness, thanks!!!🙏👌

Happy Australia day🇦🇺🇦🇺

Work never stops on the farms though, with all this week in the 40’s and tomorrow being a scorcher at 48° it’s all work with pumps running 24hrs irrigating to keep things alive!!

Due to high demand, I will be taking orders for vegetables prior to Christmas.

All produce will be available for pick up this Saturday 20th, at the following locations/times:

* Nyah West Park from 10am till 10:30am
* The Big Cod Carpark Swan Hill from 11:30am till 12:30pm.

Produce available:

1kg bag of carrots - $4
1kg bag of potatoes - $4
10kg box of potatoes - $35
500g tray of beetroot - $3
1kg Brown onions - $4

Produce grown on our farm at Woorinen North, and is all certified organic.

Please send all orders via inbox by 9pm Thursday. Cash only on the day. 🥕🥔🧅
