We specialise in pure WA bee pollen and food for health. Red Earth Honey is a small beekeeping business based in Western Australia. We specialise in producing pure raw honey straight from nature to you.

Big news for Red Earth Pollen.

We’re incredibly proud to announce that Red Earth Pollen has been awarded $3 million through the Australian Government’s CRC-P research program.

This project will bring together leading Australian researchers and industry partners to explore the incredible potential of Australian propolis and bee pollen.

Western Australia’s unique native flora produces some of the most chemically diverse bee products in the world, and this project will help unlock their potential in health, nutraceutical and therapeutic applications.

We’re excited to be part of building the next chapter of Australia’s natural bioactive industry.

Did you know that around 80% of Western Australia’s bee pollen comes from the magnificent Marri tree (Corymbia calophylla)?

When Marri trees burst into bloom, it’s game on for our bees — and for us. These incredible trees are powerhouse pollen producers, delivering the rich, golden grains that make Western Australian bee pollen so unique and nutrient-dense.

Iconic trees like Jarrah and Blackbutt also contribute smaller amounts of pollen, but it’s the Marri flowering season that truly fuels the bulk of our harvest. For a short, vibrant window each year, the hives are thriving and the pollen traps are brimming with fresh, locally harvested pollen.

From tree → hive → you, that’s the magic of Marri.

Many of you have been with us since the early days of Red Earth Honey, when we started out as a small beekeeping business back in 2015.

For many years our focus was simply on caring for our bees and producing good quality Western Australian honey. During that time we also supplied pollen to Saxon Bee, run by Rod Pavey, who spent many decades building one of Australia’s most respected pollen processing businesses. His knowledge and dedication was pivotal in developing a value chain for Western Australian Pollen both domestically and internationally.

In 2022, when Rod decided to retire, I was honoured to continue what he had built. From that point, Red Earth Pollen began to take shape, carrying forward Saxon Bee’s experience while bringing our own focus on constant improvements in quality and traceability.

Since then, the business has continued to evolve. Last year we made the decision to sell our remaining beehives so we could focus more on pollen as well as other bee-derived products.

While honey will always be part of Red Earth’s DNA, we can’t wait to share with you what’s coming next.

It's been a rough few months 😩, but after some much needed Marri pollen and nectar we finally have some mature drones in our apiary and we are setting cells again (at least for one round).

This means we have some of our golden mainland-mated Rottnest daughters available for purchase and are taking orders for pickup on Friday the 14th and Saturday the 15th of March.

We also have a limited number of queen-right NUCs available for those who need to rejuvenate failing hives.
