Tassie is at a crossroads. πŸ›‘ By choosing to shop at local Tassie shops and farms, you are helping to protect our food supply and keep our state moving forward.

We have a chance to build a food system no other state in Australia has. One that is local, healthy, and has enough for everyone. Many of us have a choice in where we spend our money- and right now, that choice is everything.

Why it matters: Big supermarkets are handy, but they rely on global shipping and expensive fuels. When global supplies get shaky, our shelves feel it. By supporting our own local growers and shops, we build a system that doesn't rely on the rest of the world.

How to take back your purchasing POWER:
βœ… Farm Gates & Markets: Buying direct means 100% of your money goes to the person who grew the food.
βœ… Shop Local: Places like Unpacked in Kingston let you buy exactly what you need. It saves you money and cuts down on plastic.
βœ… Independent Grocers: Local IGAs and Hill Street Grocer often put Tassie farmers first.
βœ… Share the Love: Don’t let garden extras rot! Use a local Crop Swap or a community pantry.

A challenge to our Tassie chefs & hospitality owners: Keep pushing to buy local! We love seeing venues like The Bush Inn New Norfolk, Grain of the Silos Peppina Stillwater Restaurant The Agrarian Kitchen Frogmore Creek and many more across the state.

We always brag about having the best food in the world. Now is the time to back it!

Dear Old Beach Berries friends,
We have done a morning inspection of our berries and made the hard decision to now close our pyo season.
We were hoping to offer one final weekend and are sorry to be disappointing people.
25-26 has been a funny season but that's the way of farming.
We are full of gratitude to you for supporting us and look forward to seeing you next year in our field of blue.

We were delighted to be asked in late 2024 if we would be interested in appearing on the iconic tv show Gardening Australia
Our segment was part of the first episode for 2026, a year to the day that filming took place.
Everyone on the team was wonderful, and of course, Tassie's Gardening Queen, was a delight, helping us to feel comfortable enough to be able to speak in front of the camera.
