Every vintage asks different questions.

Whole bunch fermentation is one of the many tools we use, but there is no formula. The proportion changes from block to block, variety to variety and season to season.

For us, it’s never about making wines bigger. It’s about building complexity, texture and nuance while allowing the site and season to remain at the centre of the conversation.

We’ll also have our newly released 2025 Chardonnay, 2025 Chenin Blanc and 2025 Quixotic Pinot Noir available to purchase at the cellar door ahead of their online public release next weekend.

A few moments from May at ChaLou.

The rush of vintage gave way to the quieter work that follows. There were new wines to share, new faces joining the team and plenty of time spent checking in on the vineyard as winter slowly settles in.

Our early Chardonnay vintages came from just one or two barrels - tiny volumes that demanded precision and patience.

2025 marks a new chapter: our young vines have joined the blend, giving us small batches, multiple picks and deeper layers to explore.

A wine that holds the freshness of our site and the depth of our soils.

The Chardonnay will be available to the general public to buy online from Thursday 21st and from the cellar door during opening hours. We can’t wait to hear what you think!

ChaLou Wines has again been recognised as one of Australia’s top wineries by and we could not be more proud! Chuffed to have the work our small but mighty team puts into everything we do recognised.

A big thank you to everyone who has supported ChaLou from near or far. Every bottle opened, every cellar door visit, every time you’ve shared our wines with a friend… it all matters more than you know.

We love crafting wines from that are thoughtful, unique and honest expressions of this beautiful place we call home.

We planted Chenin because we believed it would thrive in our cool, high‑altitude site. Years later, this is the first release from that block - bright and textural. Available for Club to order online on 14th May.

…And that’s a wrap for the 2026 vintage!!! Our last batches of Syrah have been sitting on skins for just over a month and they are looking sensational… Last presses today! What a day for it 🍁🍂
