A little story from the shop on Saturday…
About an hour before closing, an Aussie dad walked in with his two young kids. They live a few suburbs away. I’d guess they were around 3 and 4 years old.
Earlier that day, they had been helping Dad with chores around the yard and had each earned a few dollars for their hard work. Dad asked them, “Righto, where do you want to spend your hard-earned dollars?”
First stop? The lolly shop. Fair enough, can we really blame them? 😄
Next stop was Serengeti at Pakenham.
After carefully looking at all the flavours, these two little legends decided they wanted to spend the rest of their money on biltong. Not just one flavour either, they went for a mix of Traditional, Serengeti, Outback and Chakalaka.
Now this isn’t a brag post. I just thought it was such a great little moment.
Here were two Aussie kids spending their hard-earned dollars on proper biltong.
As a South African living in Australia, that was a proud biltong moment. 🇿🇦🇦🇺
Biltong lovers everywhere should be proud, the next generation is coming through nicely! 😆
