Something is changing at the cellar door.

From 1 October, we’re moving to reservations only, so every guest can have the experience we’ve always wanted to share: a calm, seated tasting by the lake, unhurried and personal, with our team entirely yours.

Tastings of our w**es and spirits from Rainfall Distillery by Ampersand Estates run from 11am, with the last sitting at 4pm. Book at least 24 hours ahead via the link in our bio or at ampersandestates.com.au, and add a grazing board to make an afternoon of it.

Members and in-house guests always taste with us free.

A huge thank you to Larissa Dubecki, who spent two nights with us at the Homestead. She joined a private tasting, walked the estate sampling Rainfall Distillery by Ampersand Estates gins under 120-year-old orange trees, and made sunset Negroni Spritzes on the ridge. She also ate her way through Andre’s marron degustation and a fire-cooked feast on the verandah.

When Melissa and I took this place on in 2020, the sheep had moved into the residences and then moved out again in disgust. To see it now, in Food & W**e, is something special for our whole team.

Today, our newest residents officially moved in.

Nestled among the kitchen and distillery gardens, the Clucktail Lounge might just have the finest address on the estate.

Herbs on one side. Botanicals on the other. And fresh eggs making the very short journey from garden to breakfast table.
