Our first animal was sent to Adelaide for the steer competition!

🍫 “Violet Crumble” 🍫 was prepared beautifully by the team at Penola High School and exhibited with style. A huge thank you to Haylee for doing a fantastic job parading him in the ring.

We’re thrilled with his result – 5th place in a massive class of heavy domestic steers 👏

Now we’re eagerly awaiting the carcass results! 🥩

It’s almost time for this little boofhead to head up to Adelaide with Penola High School for steer week at the Royal Adelaide Show. This is my first time sending a steer to a school and he will also be the first steer I’ve bred to go to the show. I am beyond excited to see how he fares against so many great animals and I am so incredibly proud of how the school has prepared him.

Good luck to all schools and exhibitors heading to Adelaide this week, but an extra special good luck to Penola and their show teams across all species.

This little steer, Violet Crumble, was last weighed in at 496.4kg at just under 12 months old a couple of weeks ago. He is out of the reining matriarch here, Karmoola Hurricane Q009 and is sired by an absolute powerhouse for eye muscle and carcass, Wirruna Pl***oy P190.

💜🍫 VIOLET CRUMBLE 🍫💜

This Wirruna Pl***oy P190 steer is headed to Adelaide next week. He is out of Karmoola Hurricane Q009 and she certainly passed on her softness and easy doing ability.

This steer will be exhibited by Penola High School who have done a great job preparing him. I am really excited to see him at the show next week and looking forward to seeing his results.

Karmoola Hurricane Q009, the big beautiful Hereford cow, has a brand new baby! Something just doesn’t look quite right though, I just can’t quite put my finger on it.
