This is an 8 week research study to examine the differences in gastrointestinal (gut) symptoms in adults consuming two different types of milk (A1 vs A2 milk). You will need to drink the provided milk 3 times daily, 1 serve in the morning, 1 serve in the middle of the day and 1 later in the day (750 mL/day) during two separate, 2-week study periods. There will be 2 washout periods of 2 weeks where
you will need to consume rice milk and not consume any dairy products. You will need to come to Curtin University Bentley in the morning for about 90 minutes each visit at baseline 1 (week 1), evaluation 1 (week 3), baseline 2 (week 5), evaluation 2 (week 7) for study measurements. - You will need to fast for 10-12 hours before each visit (from at least midnight), where no food or drink can be consumed, except for water.
- You will need to avoid alcohol and caffeinated beverages like coffee, tea and soft drinks and strenuous exercise the night before the visit as these will affect the measurements.
- Blood samples and body measurements will be taken at each visit. You will also be given urine and faecal sample “collection kits” for home collection of samples prior to evaluation 1 and evaluation 2 visits. Although there will be no reimbursement for travel costs, you will be able to claim $100 from A2 Dairy Products Australia after completion of the study. Please visit the website if you are interested in participating in this clinical trial. This study is for people aged 18-65. https://curtin.asia.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_bNGuwJrUQsVr8Hy
